Story
Meet Meatball! Meatball is a 4 month old, 9 pound Heeler mix. He loves to play with anything he can find while exploring his surroundings. He doesn't go too far, always making sure his humans are close by. He's a very playful, and confident pup. He took no time at all to cuddle up to his foster family and loves to snuggle. Meatball is crate trained, and uses pee pads indoors. He is still young, but is very alert and responds to his foster's voice. Meatball is currently being fostered in Orange County, NY. His adoption fee is $500. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
A 10-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, Journee’s name came from the English word for “journey,” or a trip of some kind. This name suits her well because her life so far has been a journey, the destination being a loving forever home. Journee’s foster saw her in the kill shelter, pulled her out, and brought her home and into rescue. She was 5 months old then, about 10 months old now, and in the 5 months since her rescue, she has grown almost to her full size of 55 pounds. Her short coat is tricolor, but mostly white, and her eyes big and brown and hopeful. She loves children, other dogs, and even cats. Being adopted would mean the end of her journey because she would have found you WAITING FOR HER at home. (TN,7/30/24) (REVISED 12/10/23)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 26, 2024, 11:32 am

Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 3 and 4 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 26, 2024, 11:32 am
