FOSTER LOCATION: Denver, CO ADOPTABLE: Anywhere in the USA Clancy is a 1 year old Bluetick Coonhound mix. In her case, that means a very high energy dog with a whole lot of personality and a coat that stops people in their tracks. Where you'd expect black on a typical coonhound, she's got blue instead- soft grey-blue ticking throughout with tan markings, long floppy ears, and big brown eyes to complete the look. She's one of a kind, and not just because of the coat. Clancy is house trained, crate trained, and great with kids. She's a big fan of other dogs and she plays like someone who knows exactly how lucky she is to feel good and be safe. Give her a minute to settle in and you get the good stuff- a genuinely great smile, a full body wiggle the second her kennel door opens, and an enthusiastic (if slightly dishonest) approach to tug o war. She also loves to run everywhere, which makes sense for a girl who's got no time to waste and a whole lot of living to catch up on. Before landing in foster, Clancy survived an overcrowded shelter where she picked up a bad case of kennel cough that left her sick and miserable for a stretch. She's fully recovered now and feeling like herself, determined to have a good day every single day. Scott is a Bluetick Coonhound who just wants to be near people. He gets along great with other dogs, completely ignores cats, and greets every single person he meets like they're the best part of his day- no fear, no hesitation, just pure joy. Scott spent his life on a chain before finally being picked up as a stray, so he's still learning what it's like to have a real home, regular meals, and someone in his corner. He's currently heartworm positive and the rescue will cover his treatment. Scott hasn't had the easiest start, but nothing about him suggests he's given up on people. FOSTER LOCATION: Tulsa, OK ADOPTABLE: Anywhere in the US Maybelle is a 2 year old Bluetick Coonhound who was picked up as a stray- everything we know about her, we're learning fresh, right alongside you. She seems to be familiar with "sit" and already has a handle on the housebreaking basics- not bad for a girl with no known history. She's good with strangers, but takes a little time to warm up to new dogs, so a patient introduction goes a long way with her. Cats are a hard pass- she'll give one a sniff, then back off and let the whole neighborhood know about it. Maybell is quiet, a little shy at first, and figuring out the world one new experience at a time. LOCATION: TULSA, OK ADOPTABLE ANYWHERE IN THE USA Meet Abby- This beautiful 7 year old bluetick girl ended up at a rural shelter during a storm. She's been staying with a foster family for the past month, and by all accounts she made herself right at home. She figured out the bell system on the doors and now rings the front door bell when she's ready for a walk or a car ride. She's not subtle about what she wants, and honestly, that's part of the charm. Abby is a people-dog through and through. She loves everybody, happily cuddles with adults and older kids alike, and is comfortable enough in her surroundings to fall asleep on the couch and snore. Loudly, presumably, because she's a bluetick and they commit to everything. Cats are a no, and she prefers to be the only dog in the home. She's been around kids 10 and up without any issues. She does pull on leash when she's excited, but settles into a routine well- she just needs someone consistent to establish one with her. Abby is crate trained and working on her house training. She does get nervous during storms, so a patient home that'll let her ride it out inside is important. She's an easy dog to love. She just needs a home that has enough room in the routine for a few extra car rides and couch naps.
