He knows how to relax indoors but lights up when there's something interesting to see, chase, smell, or do. Jack is a high-drive hound who does best when his brain and body are kept busy. He has a strong chase instinct and needs a fenced yard and an active lifestyle, including things like enrichment activities like scent work, long walks, or a playful buddy to keep him engaged and content. Without a job to do, he might try to invent one on his own- like deciding he's responsible for neighborhood traffic patrol. For Jack Ryan, a home that understands hound instincts and can safely channel them is important. He's housebroken, trustworthy at home, and happiest with consistency, activity, and a little purpose in his day. He really loves to chase cars, so he will require an adopter with a securely fenced yard for his safety, as well as the patience to train that impulse out of him.
