Story
Jack Ryan guy is a big handsome Bluetick Coonhound with a true hound heart and plenty of personality. He knows how to relax indoors but lights up when there's something interesting to see, chase, smell, or do. Jack is a high-drive hound who does best when his brain and body are kept busy. He has a strong chase instinct and needs a fenced yard and an active lifestyle, including things like enrichment activities like scent work, long walks, or a playful buddy to keep him engaged and content. Without a job to do, he might try to invent one on his own- like deciding he's responsible for neighborhood traffic patrol. For Jack Ryan, a home that understands hound instincts and can safely channel them is important. He's housebroken, trustworthy at home, and happiest with consistency, activity, and a little purpose in his day. He really loves to chase cars, so he will require an adopter with a securely fenced yard for his safety, as well as the patience to train that impulse out of him. If you're looking for a beautiful dog with classic hound charm and just the right amount of spark, Jack Ryan says hi.

Story
Luna is a sweet, spayed Bluetick Coonhound who's spent the last 3½ years with her person, but when life got too busy for her to get the attention she deserves, she needed somewhere else to go. She's housebroken, knows basic commands, and loves people- she thrives when someone is around to give her love. Luna is usually great with other dogs and strangers, but a home without cats or other small critters is a must- Luna has a strict and permanent eviction policy. She's looking for a family with a big yard and plenty of time for love, affection, and long stretches of outdoor fun. Luna is ready to be your loyal, goofy buddy. What are you waiting for?

Story
His name is Gibson- but you can call him Gibby. Good Guy Gibby is a stunning coonhound with an extraordinary story that somehow keeps circling back to Helpless Hounds. He’s total character- He does well with dogs, is social with strangers, totally adores teens, but considers cats and chickens just too delicious to be friends with. He's smart, crate trained, house trained, eager to learn, and bonds easily with the people around him- but that's not all! What makes Gibby *especially* special is how connected he is to our rescue. This tale began nearly 2 years ago when Gibby was spotted running loose with his girlfriend, Goldie, but the duo disappeared before they could be rescued and relocated. When he eventually ended up at a local shelter as a stray, Helpless Hounds officially became part of his story. Soon after joining our program, the plot thickened- his girlfriend turned up! With puppies! A DNA test confirmed that Gibby is 51.5% Bluetick, 48.5% Treeing Walker Coonhound, and the proud father of ten puppies. Goldie and the puppies she arrived with are now Helpless Hounds alumni- with one pup infamously becoming a foster fail with our founder. All these twists and turns lead to one simple truth: Adopting Gibby doesn't just mean getting a dog- it means becoming part of a full fledged Helpless Hounds family tree. But of course, the tale continues: After 7 months in which he experienced everything from roaming to rescue, reunion to rejection, Gibby was thrilled to finally find a friend! We all hoped this was his happy ending, but unfortunately that chapter closed sooner than anyone anticipated. Now he has returned for Act 2: the part where our hero finally finds the redemption he deserves. Gibby dreams of a family of his very own- people who will meet his curiosity and energy with fun and engagement, but more importantly someone who sees him and is certain. His perfect place has room to run, tons of treats, spots to sniff, and a truckload of toys. When his adventures are all done, he's happy to crash on the couch and reap the rewards of being the best boy. In return, he'll offer lifelong loyalty, endless enthusiasm, charm, charisma, and mayyyybe some minor mischief. He's hoping for a home where he can truly thrive and experience his most exciting chapter yet- one filled with laughter, love, and all the little luxuries this (no longer Helpless) Hound deserves. Gibby's journey has been full of twists, turns, and lessons learned, and we just know the happy ending to his story is going to be one worth staying up for.
