Story
Pinto is currently in foster, if you are interested in adopting him, please call to set up a meet and greet.Pinto is working on house-breaking and has been building a lot of confidence and is doing amazing on structured walks, and waiting patiently for his meal. (We had to buy a slow feeder bowl because he was so fast at eating, he threw it all up.) He's learned to "Sit", go into "Down", and go to "Place" (his dog bed). He doesn't hold those positions long, but he's slowly figuring things out. He's also incredibly affectionate and loving. He is the sweetest boy ever; he always wants loving and snuggles. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready to be adopted. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 45 Age: 0yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
Cash is a 7 year old, nice and chill boy. He's a great dog for older and younger couples, or anyone that has the time to care for him and love him. He needs a lot of TLC, but he also likes his space. He loves to sleep under blankets. I have had Cash since 2019, however my wife and I are expecting a baby and between work and that, I don't really have time to spend with him. I hope someone who doesn't mind spending time with this good boy, chooses him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Teri is a beautiful girl who has spent much of her life in shelters—four different ones since 2022. Despite that, she has remained a loving, gentle soul. She does wonderfully with kids and dogs of all sizes and ages. Teri is a no for cats, as she tends to pester them relentlessly (for everyone’s sanity, including hers). She truly doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and forms strong bonds. Teri enjoys playtime and can be vocal while playing, so we’re looking for an adopter who is comfortable with barking, growling, and noisy play—especially someone with dog experience. She is smart, attentive, and happiest when she’s right by your side. Teri is ready for a patient, loving home where she can finally settle in for good.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 5:42 pm

MY ADOPTION FEE IS SPONSORED! Meet Missy, a delightful 4-year-old Bluetick mix looking for her forever home. Weighing in at 50 pounds, she is a spayed female with a heart full of love to offer. Missy is a unique blend of sweetness and playfulness, making her an ideal companion for the right family. Missy is a friendly girl with a gentle soul. Though she might be a bit shy when first meeting new people, she quickly warms up and shows her true colors as a loving and affectionate companion. One of her favorite things to do is lean against people to soak up all the attention and affection she can get. Missy would thrive best in a loving home where she can be the only dog. This will allow her to receive all the love and attention she craves without having to share the spotlight. Missy has a playful spirit and enjoys spending time with her toys. Whether it's a game of fetch or simply snuggling with her favorite plush toy, she knows how to have fun.  If you are interested in adopting please head to our website to fill out an adoption application at https://alleghanyhumane.org June 5, 2026, 9:00 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Riley! Riley is 5 years old. Riley is a sweet, loving dog who is nearly housebroken (except for some rare morning accidents) and does great with most other dogs. He's currently in a foster home where we are getting to know him better and helping him put his best paw forward. Riley is a work in progress in the best way- we're currently focused on helping him feel his healthiest and most confident. He is currently underweight, and we are working with our vet to help him gain strength and weight. He's a sensitive soul who gets a little anxious when left alone, so he currently needs to be crated when left alone to prevent him from destructive anxious behaviors, while we help him build confidence and teach that he is safe to relax. We're exploring options with our vet, including behavioral support, to set him up for long-term success. Riley would thrive in a patient, loving home with someone who understands that anxious dogs just need time, consistency, and compassion. One thing we've learned about Riley is that having a canine companion by his side makes a real difference. A doggy roommate helps him feel secure and settled, so a home with another friendly dog would be ideal for him. If you are interested in giving Riley his forever home, please reach out!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    March 12, 2026, 6:07 am
