Story
HEY THERE, HOUND LOVERS! Meet Frank! Frank is a middle aged, coonhound who needs all the help he can get to find his forever home! 75 pounds of joyful, exuberance can be too much for some people to handle! Frank the Tank is looking for a home with a fenced in yard to romp and play! He's gotten along well with female dogs and would be happiest with an active dog to play with. Frank is HOUSETRAINED and is working hard to maintain his manners even though he is now kenneled. In his former home, he slept in the bed was a well behave, loving roommate! Frank is not going to be a fit for every home (NO CATS FOR SURE!) but we only need to find one big hearted, hound savvy, dog lover to give him is happy ending! Frank's status is somewhat TIME SENSITIVE as he is fostering with our president who cannot provide long term care for another dog at this time. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Frank, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
***AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT ***HAS BEGUN HEARTWORM TREATMENT AND IS BEING TREATED FOR ANAPLASMOSIS Meet Ardin, a goofy but 18 month old, 58lb Bluetick Coonhound from a tough start who's now ready for a brighter chapter filled with love, belly rubs and LOVE. This handsome boy was surrendered along with other dogs when their previous situation couldn’t meet their needs, and when Ardin arrived, he was underweight and pretty filthy. But with a little TLC, some regular meals, and a whole lot of kindness, he is already starting to put on the weight she needs. Ardin is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, so while he’s on the mend, he will need a family who can keep his activity level low and ensure he gets the proper care during this time. This doesn’t mean he’s any less lovable—his goofy, dorky side is still there, ready to make you laugh and shower you with affection as soon as he’s feeling better. He’s a dog who will thrive with guidance and patience, and once his treatment is complete, he’s going to be an amazing, active companion! Since Ardin has never had the comfort of living indoors, he’ll need some help with housetraining and adjusting to the routines of home life. But don’t let that discourage you—he’s a quick learner and with a little consistency and love, he’ll catch on in no time. Ardin has been Neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
