Story
On January 8 we took Bo out of the small pen he lived in his entire life. He's currently living in a boarding facility but needs a foster ASAP. What he'd live even more is to find his forever. of course! A senior on paper but most youthful and young at heart, Bo is ready to win you over with his buoyant, happy, playful disposition. He loves nothing more than to head out for a good paced walk to check out all the sights and smells and also to just stretch his legs and get some exercise. Bo is Mr Happy and he's never met a stranger. He has the biggest and most welcoming smile and your spirits can't help but be lifted when he's by your side, leaning into you and or guiding you through the woods on a walk or trail hike. And did we mention he's an excellent tap dancer/wiggle butt??? True to the hound breed, he seems pretty open and accepting of other dogs so having another 4 legged friend in his new home, might be a good option for him. Please consider giving this sweet senior bluetick hound a loving foster home! Story
“BLUE” TO ADOPT CONTACT: Paul  304-249-5045 or hansen.11@frontier.com Bluetick Coon Hound Age – 6 years (approx.) Housebroken Friendly Gets along with other dogs. Neutered Current Shots  (Vet: Faithful Friends Animal Clinic,  Franklin WV 304-358-2360) Blue was dropped into a wooded area near Franklin WV about three years ago and left to fend for himself. In a depleted state, he was found and taken in by a woman who had done the same for several other strays. Decades of caring for various breeds of deserted hunting dogs became the focus of her life until she succumbed to cancer in March. Both Blue and Hank are sorely missing their very special human and in need of another loving home. They don't have to be adopted together.   ##1842315##

Story
ASK NOT WHAT THIS HOUND CAN DO FOR YOU, BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THIS HOUND. Harry Neil is a 10 year old walker hound who recently came to us when we was not longer wanted to hunting. Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house traing and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude. (We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.) A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
