Story
Approximate Date of Birth: 9/17/2021 Description:   Meet Pico De Gato—affectionately known as Smoosh—a one-of-a-kind cat with a personality as charming as her name. Independent yet affectionate, playful yet serene, she’s the perfect companion for anyone who appreciates a cat with a mind of her own. She loves to perch by the window, watching birds and rabbits with quiet fascination, but she’s just as happy curling up in a warm lap for snuggles. Her feisty yet endearing nature never fails to bring laughter, and while she may be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly with a little patience. Though loud noises can startle her, she’s proven to be resilient, having lived with young children for years. She’s also had brief experience with a dog, tolerating the arrangement with grace, and with time, she may learn to coexist with other pets. Fully litter-box trained and accustomed to indoor life—with occasional catio adventures—Smoosh is looking for a loving home where she can share her unique blend of independence, humor, and affection. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and cuddly feline companion with a touch of sass, Pico De Gato is ready to win your heart! Words to Describe Me: Independent, playful, quiet, sassy, loyal, sensitive Favorite Place to Sleep: Next to her favorite human, basking in the sun on a windowsill or her cat tower, or on a fluffy blanket after making biscuits Favorite Toy: String toys/wands with feather or small plush, cat tunnel, balls Perfect Day: Eat wet food, watch birds/bunnies outside in catio, play with toys, sunbathe, cuddle with human Kitty's Likes: Head scratches, pets along body, and scratches above tail Kitty's Dislikes: Get belly rubs, be held or pet for too long Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Scratches behind ears Favorite Treat: Hasn't had many treats, but loves sheba wet Other Info: She likes to chew on elastic and foam items Good with Cats: Unknown, but optimistic (Animal has not met another cat.).  Good with Dogs: Ambivalent towards dogs. Good with Children: Can live with children over the age of 12. Companion Animal: Not necessary.   Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age. Story
On 4/12/2025, I was returning from the store, and as I was parking at my apartment complex, Jake walked up to the van. He had this look and a stance that suggested that he wanted to jump into the van through my window. So I got out and greeted him. He was friendly so I petted him. He insisted on following me. Long story short I was hoping that he would go home after I helped him. He did not have a collar. He is a cool cat, so I allowed him to stay during the day, and kicked him out at night. He decided to stay and so I allowed this for short term. I guess he needed saving because he has not left for a week. I thought he would find his way back home, but I suspect someone ditched him here at the apartments. It is best he finds a home now, because in the long term, he can not come with me when I move back in with my Wife's house where we have 3 dogs. Jake is now attached to me, but I am unable to keep him in the long term.

Story
Sweet little Zoe is a young adult that was found on the streets in a neighborhood about a month ago. She was found under a car crying and was taken in to get fixed while efforts were made to locate the owner. Upon taking her to get fixed, it was discovered she was already spayed, so the poor girl went through the surgery unnecessarily. Nevertheless, precious Zoe has been the ideal kitty in every way. She is so excited when you walk into the room and she immediately jumps from the window that she loves to greet you! She will sleep by your head and purrrrrrrr endlessly. Zoe has had a tough go at life as she was abandoned, but someone obviously loved on her previously as she is the most serene and calm kitty who just loves to be back indoors and only requires a window to look out of. Please consider giving this sweet kitty another chance at a good life. The person who currently has her cannot keep her as she is elderly and has 5 cats of her own.

He is full of personality and he likes to be around other people's company! I've had him for about a year and I have not been able to get him comfortable with my other cat. He deserves a good home with good people and without other animals.

Story
Halo animal rescue is where we adopted Suki. Suki is an easy well trained cat that is potty trained, playful with toys and is great to hang with. She may get scared sometimes when being picked up but she’s manageable. Great cat overall with other cats once she warms up to them and loves treats

Story
Flower was found on the street and taken in. She has always been very sweet and playful. She's good around dogs and kids. She can be shy and hide when she is somewhere new. She is very independent. You'll know when she's ready to hang out, though, because she will have a full conversation with you. Vet said she was about 1 year and it's been about 6 months since that visit. Only issue is owner has been having recurring medical issues that doctors believe is due to a cat allergy. Flower deserves a wonderful home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Oreo came into our lives as a teeny, mewing three-day-old. His mama (a gorgeous Siamese with sky blue eyes) was trapped and gave birth to Oreo, his brother, and two sisters in the trap shortly after.  Before he was named Oreo we called him Feisty - of all the kittens he had the most to say as we brought him home. We couldn't have been any farther off.   We've come to know Oreo to be a thoughtful, gentle, affectionate, and patient kitten.    Of the litter, he is the most timid, but he is by no means shy. He has a slow, old-soul feel about him and takes his time to assess any situation. He'll often observe as his litter mates tumble over a toy while he patiently waits his turn and his purr is a soft rumble like a storm a couple miles in the distance.    Once he's opened up it's not uncommon for him to stop by for a snuggle. While I'm working he'll sometimes snuggle in my arms and chest and politely avoids laying on the keyboard. Otherwise he'll rest somewhere soft nearby.    If he's anywhere he ought not to be, a gentle clap will get him out of trouble. He will even (happily) leave a room if you call him with a "here kitty kitty" as we've tied that phrase to treats. He is a very, very good kitten.    Things we love about Oreo: • He stomps a little when he comes down the stairs and it's adorable. We can literally tell it's him just from the stomps.  • AKA Blackbean because he has one solitary black foot pad on his left rear foot, all the rest are pink.  • AKA The Riddler because his tail makes a perfect question mark. • We also call him double stufd because of the thick white stripe on his belly. • He is so, so gentle and is very careful not to claw.  • He will sometimes oversee litter cleanings and make sure everything is up to par.  • He rests his paws on top of the water bowl when he drinks.  • Sometimes he purrs when he plays.    Things Oreo Loves: • Watching TV • Being near his people.  • Looking at and/or Pawing Water • Kleenex - used or not!   Favorite Toy:  Kitty Dancer  Balled up paper - sticky notes especially Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    Our adoption fee is $175       If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Cat Interest Form on AZRAIN.ORG and, if you are selected as a prospective adopter, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Prince is a orange tabby with a handsome coat and face.  He is approximately 5-7 years old. He has lived in a shelter  for a number of years after his owner passed away.  Prince is a very cautious guy around new humans but loves the company of other cats. He has come a long way since first arriving at the shelter. He enjoys being brushed, rubbed with scatcher, and petted on his back. He loves Fancy Feast too! Prince would be consider a "socially awkward cat".  What is a socially awkward cat?  Some cats are shy, timid, or fearful of people and other cats. They may hide, avoid, or even lash out when approached by strangers. These cats are not mean or unlovable; they are just socially awkward and need extra time and patience to trust and bond with their human companions. They may never become affectionate lap cats, but they have their own unique ways of showing love and appreciation. If you are looking for a cat who will challenge you, surprise you, and reward you with loyalty and devotion, then you might be the perfect match for one of our socially awkward cats.   Because these cats require more patience and understanding than most, we have a few special policies regarding them:   We will ask more questions about your home environment, other pets, children, and other details to make sure you are the right match for the cat. Please don't be discouraged if you are not the right fit! We have many other cats, and one of them is sure to be a fit. We typically arrange video meet-and-greets for these cats for the initial contact. Most of these cats get stressed out by new situations, and allowing them to be seen without that stress trigger makes for a better experience for everyone. We may discount the adoption fees for these cats. Our first priority is to find the right match between cat and human, and we realize that these kitties may take more time than most to settle in and determine compatibility.   If you think you may be the right fit for Prince or another one of our socially awkward cats, please fill out an interest form today!  Prince has become bonded to his bestie Bourbon - they do everything together and help each other navigate the scariness of the world together!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    Our adoption fee is $175       If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Cat Interest Form on AZRAIN.ORG and, if you are selected as a prospective adopter, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet.
