Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Salem and her sister Sage are two beautiful Bombays looking for a new home together. We know this is a tall order since black cats are the least adopted cats and the most overlooked online and at the shelters. But we know someone out there will be super smitten with these two parlor panthers. Their previous owner relinquished them to us after they could no longer care for them, and we have promised these sweet girls that we will find them a soft place to land. They are 2 years old and want nothing more than to start their new life with their new person or family. Here are some individual characteristics about each of them. Salem - She will most likely be super friendly from the start. She loves toys and even knows how to play fetch. She is wicked smart and super engaging. She loves to cuddle with her human and will head butt you until you pet her. Such a sweetheart. Sage - She is going to be more reserved in the beginning. She might even be a little sassy but trust us when we say she is a gentle girl at heart. It takes a little bit for her to relax in a new environment but once she does, she will be the cat that sleeps on your chest at night (if you are into that sort of thing). She is independent but sweet and loves to sun herself in the window while watching the world go by outside. They have been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Their adoption fee together is $300.April 2, 2025, 11:42 pm

Story
I got my cat, Rumi, from a friend, and he is 3 years old. I’m looking for a loving home where he will be cared for and cherished as the forever companion he deserves. Rumi is affectionate, cuddly, and friendly, always eager for attention and companionship. He also has an energetic side, enjoying playtime and watching the world outside the window. Since he is FIV-positive, he would do best as the only cat in the home or with other FIV-positive cats. My hope is to find him a home where he will be truly loved and cared for.

Story
I’m reaching out in hopes you can help me find a new home for my 13-year-old black cat. I’ve love him dearly, but due to personal circumstances, I can no longer care for him. He’s a special guy with some challenges: he sprays or pees when upset, doesn’t tolerate being touched until a long time of trust has been built, and needs to be the only pet in a home. I had placed him with a nice women who said she’d keep him as long as he needed and would not have him put down. However, she has taken in another cat into the same space and it’s traumatic for him. He’s had been attacked by neighbors cats and had many fights as hewas an indoor outdoor cat. Now she says he has kidney problems and needs to be put down, but she hasn’t had any test to suggest this is true. So it seems she’s just tired of him or prefers the other cat. Despite this, he deserves a chance at a peaceful life, and I’m desperate to find a no-kill solution. I have struggled to find a shelter or rescue with space for him.

Story
Please contact Judy for more information about this pet.To learn more about these lovely cats, please text Judy at 925-597-0793 and include information about yourself, your family, including  pets, and what you are looking for in a cat.  The three Tato teens (born 9/21/24) live in Walnut Creek. Their mom was trapped in a field along the freeway in Concord and the three all black siblings (Tato, Tato Blue and Tato Yellow) and their gray tabby brother, Kenau, were born before their mom was able to get spayed. The Tatos all look alike and so their colored tags are often the only way to tell them apart. Tato and Tato Blue are females and Tato Yellow is a male. They are all playful and huge fans of Churu treats and wand toys. Tato Blue is the biggest lap sitter of the group. They all get along with each other and need to be placed with one of their  siblings or with another playful cat already living in the household.January 18, 2025, 9:25 pm
