It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.
The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
MYSTERY was saved from a rescuer that was a horrible hoarder. Well fast forward, the lady was killed by a drunk driver. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. MYSTERY had to get healthy and social. He is now ready for adoption.
Meet MYSTERY, a spirited Bombay cat from Lucerne Valley, California, whose sleek black coat gleams like midnight and whose personality is a bundle of affection and charm. MYSTERY has emerged from a challenging beginning, having been rescued from a hoarding situation where he was malnourished and shy. Today, he is a sweet, confident cat who is eager to share love, conversation, and companionship with the right caregiver.
MYSTERY is a talkative little gentleman who enjoys engaging with his human friends and sharing his opinion in his soft, endearing voice. He thrives on gentle pets and a cozy lap to curl into, and his favorite treat is wet food, which always brings out his happy little purrs. Despite his rocky start, he has grown into a playful, loving companion who finds joy in everyday moments and in the company of other cats. His gentle, social nature makes him a wonderful companion for feline friends, and he seems to flourish when surrounded by other kitties.
He is looking for a patient and loving home where he can continue to grow into his full playful and affectionate personality. MYSTERY responds beautifully to care, attention, and positive reinforcement, and he is ready to form deep bonds with a family who appreciates a cat with character, charm, and a touch of chatter. MYSTERY is an DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / BOMBAY MIX. He is about 4 years and 10 months old. ABEL is good with cats. In his foster home, he was around other kittens, older cats, and a big dog. He has never been around children.
MYSTERY is currently located at our rescue in Hemet, California.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT)
2. Fill Out Online Form
3. Submit Online Application
4. Someone Will Call / Text to Do Phone Interview (within a week)
5. Will be notified of Approved Application
6. Home Visit (WILL BE SCHEDULED)
7. Official Meet and Greet with Kitty
8. Sign Adoption Contract - AME
9. Pay Adoption Fee (VENMO - ZELLE - PAYPAL or CASH)
10. Take the Kitty Home

The cats/kittens at a foster/rescue home, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below:

The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated!

If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.

Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.
We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.

The adoption fee of $200 covers:
Neuter
FVRCP shots
RABIES shot
FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative)
Drontal Dewormer
Stronghold Flea Control
Microchip
We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.
