Story
Brothers Ossie and Wesley, a charming pair of survivors, are ready to find their forever family! Rescued together during a TNR event, these handsome boys have quickly traded their street smarts for snuggle skills and are blossoming more every day.Ossieis the slightly more adventurous of the two. He was the first to discover the magic of a good purr and leads the way in exploring new toys and comfy napping spots. Hes the confident co-captain of this adorable team.Wesleyis Ossie's sweet and slightly shyer shadow. He gains confidence from his brother and, once comfortable, is a total purr-machine who loves a gentle pet and a good play session.Ossie and Wesley are looking for a patient and loving home. They enjoy being together but do not have to be adopted together as long as their new home has one more feline friend for them to play with. They'll do best in an environment where they have space to play and a human (or two!) who understands that earning their full trust is one of the most rewarding parts of the adoption journey.Watching them open up and thrive in a safe, loving home will be a uniquely magical experience. If you're ready to add a little extra joy and a whole lot of purrs to your life, Ossie and/or Wesley might just be your perfect match!
We'll also keep you updated on Wesley's adoption status with email updates.

Good with cats,
Story
I was born outside and thankfully rescued before the cold snap. It didn't take long for me to discover snuggling in a warm lap is way better than trying to stay safe from predators and keep warm outside under a shed. I have left that past behind and look forward to the cushy life with wet and dry food, snuggles and pets, and lots of toys!

Story
My name is Diesel and I am nine weeks old. I was born in a barn, and my extended cat family was part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) effort. I was too little for my procedure then, and farm life is dangerous for a growing kitten. Staying safe around farm equipment and large animals isn't always easy! When I purred for the first time, my path became clear: I needed an inside home. I have green eyes and a slick black coat. I may look like a mini-panther, but I'm all housecat kitten! I'll need a little time and patience to adjust, but I respond well to pets, wand toys, and lots of love.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hi… I’m Michael. I’m a black Bombay boy with a big heart, and for a while, I didn’t have a place to belong. I used to hang around a house where everything smelled warm and safe. I would sit by the door and hope maybe — just maybe — someone would let me inside. I tried so hard to make friends with the kitty who lived there. I was gentle. I was patient. I even tried little chirps and soft purrs to show her I meant no harm. But she hated me.Really, truly hated me. No matter what I did, she chased me, hissed at me, and made sure I knew I wasn’t welcome. I didn’t understand why. I just wanted a friend. I just wanted a home. The human who lived there was kind to me, though. She could see that I was trying, and she worried — really worried — that her kitty might hurt me. She said I deserved so much more than fear and cold nights outside. And one day, she reached out for help… and everything changed. I was brought to a foster home filled with kindness. And guess what? There’s a kitty here who actually likes me — and I love her right back. I finally have a friend! We play, nap, and share space without anyone trying to chase me away. It feels so good, I can’t even put it into words. That’s why I’ll need at least one friendly kitty in my forever home. I’ve learned that I’m happiest when I have another cat to love. I’ve also learned that I’m really good at being indoors. My foster mom says I’m a perfect gentleman — clean, polite, and truly grateful. I love people so much. I love being close, cuddling into soft blankets, leaning into hands that pet me, and rubbing my head against the people who make me feel safe. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve known loneliness… you treasure love extra hard.I’m handsome, they say — shiny black fur, bright eyes — and sometimes I act a little silly just to make my humans laugh. A goofy flop here, a playful twirl there… it feels good to be happy again. But even with all this joy, a part of me still wonders when it will be my turn. When someone will choose me — forever. When I’ll finally hear the door open and know that I’m home for good, not just visiting. I’ve waited a long time for that feeling. If you have love to give… if you have a friendly kitty who wouldn’t mind a gentle sweetheart like me… if you want a cuddly boy who will adore you with his whole heart… Then maybe — just maybe — I’m the one you’ve been looking for, too. Love,Michael  If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 23, 2025, 7:18 pm
