Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.Snowflake is a 7-month-old female Border Collie mix who will need to be spayed before adoption. She was surrendered by her previous owners due to having too many pets. With her classic Border Collie look—shiny black coat and white markings—she’s a beautiful medium-sized girl at 37 pounds. Playful and full of energy, Snowflake would be an excellent candidate for agility training. She gets along well with dogs and children, and is ready to find a patient owner who will give her a loving, fun-filled life.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****June 23, 2026, 8:51 am

Story
Pete is a good boy that is looking for a new home. His “mom” and “dad” were having some big health issues that required special treatment and “down” time to recover. Pete will miss his “mom” and “dad”, but he knows they need to focus on their health. All of that to say that Pete is ready to find a new family to love! He has all of his vaccinations, he is heartworm negative, he has a microchip, and he has been neutered. Pete is almost a year old and he weighs a little over 70 pounds! Would you like to add this friendly guy to your “pack?”

Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! Jayce is a 3-year-old Brittnay Mix who is looking for his forever home. While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, give him a moment to come out of his shell, and you'll find a funny, bouncy, and deeply loving companion. Jayce is a "paws-on" kind of dog! He is famous for his hugs and will spend his time trying to wrap his paws around you if he isn't already trying to curl up in your lap. He is the perfect blend of a lounge partner and a playmate. Because of his cautious temperament, Jayce has some specific needs to help him feel safe and successful: No Other Dogs: He prefers being the "only child" and can be reactive toward strange dogs. Quiet Environment: He would not enjoy the high-stress environment of a dog park. Patient Humans: He needs an owner who understands he needs to approach new things at his own pace. No Strangers (at first): He can be vocal with people he doesn't know, but his loyalty to his inner circle is unmatched. If you have the patience to let him blossom, you will be rewarded with a level of love and loyalty that only a dog like Jayce can give. He is ready to be your most devoted friend. Jayce's adoption fee is $325 to offset the cost of vetting and help other rescues in need. He is currently located in Georgia and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad.
