Story
CENSUS DEADLINE5PM FRIDAY 06/13/25AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTERName: MaximusAnimal ID: A865059Age: 3yrWeight: 52.00About:Maximus is a handsome guy who shines outside of his kennel- just ask to meet him and you’ll see! This affectionate, playful boy has many fans at the shelter- here’s what some of them have said:“Maximus can be vocal behind the barrier of his kennel, but don’t let that deter you! He leashes easily and once away from the noise, he is just an easygoing snuggle bug. He jumped up on one of the picnic tables and I gave him some love and pets and he gave me a couple sweet kisses on the cheek. He’s a cute fella!”“This morning was my first time walking Maximus. Once outside he relaxed and accepted treats willingly. We walked around the lake with his kennelmate. Maximus walked with loose body language and a wagging tail. Such a good boy!”Maximus shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been appropriate and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup.Maximus is now facing a deadline due to increasingly high kennel census here at PACC and must find placement with a PACC approved adopter or foster by 5pm on Friday June 13th.Available for foster care (2+ weeks) or adoption through PACC.Interested parties:Must visit PACC before the 5:00PM Friday June 13th, 2025 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.Home Management Plan1) Resource Guards Attention/Space (from dogs) - owner surrender notes stated protective of children in home• Watch any interactions with dogs in close proximity to your space or their space (i.e. beds, kennels, etc)• Divide attention equally between your current pets and your new dog.• Ensure that each pet has a space to move away from other pets (rec. Crate training - see handout)• Work on teaching a stay/place behavior to teach your pet boundaries.2) Separation Anxiety - per owner surrender notes, barks a lot• Crate training can help prevent destructive behaviors.• Some dogs get bored easily, offering activities such as frozen kongs, enrichments, music and TV sounds can keep them busy and help alleviate stress.• Work

Story
Hello! My name is Mabel and I certainly deserve the lavish life that comes with the title. I am a 6 year old border collie mix and have all the love in the world to offer. I am pretty scared here at the shelter and act very calm and quiet because of it but don't let that fool you! Being a border collie, I would be happiest always by your side running, walking, or hiking. I am not a hang out and chill couch potato, I love having something to do. I am also very smart and would excel at puzzle toys or search and find games. I'd love to join your family but if you've never had a border collie before please do your research to be sure you're ready to give me the best life possible!
