Story
Xena is a pretty tricolored dog who was found as a stray out in the woods, miles from anything.  The people who found her couldn't keep her because they have health issues, and so Xena came into rescue. She is possibly some kind of terrier, maybe mixed with smooth coated border collie, but without a DNA test it's hard to say just what kind of mix she is. She does have the typical terrier puppy disposition.  She is feisty, high-activity, playful and friendly.  She is a little too interested in the barn cats, so would probably do best in a cat-free home. She got a good vet check, is spayed,  and has been given age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dosed with Nexgard Plus for flea/tick/worm prevention, and microchipped.  She weighed 32 pounds on 7/3/25. The vet estimated that she was born somewhere around 1/29/25. Her adoption fee is $100.00 If you would like to adopt Xena, email me at thistle88@centurytel.net and request an application.March 7, 2026, 1:15 pm

Story
Meet Holly. She is beautiful inside and out. Holly came to us as a stray during our first cold snap. She was painfully thin, but her heart was huge. From day one, she won us over. She's one of the sweetest dogs we've had, and we have had a lot of sweet ones. Holly loves people. She craves attention and soaks it up. She gives kisses, plays with toys, and sleeps like a pro on a cozy bed. She also does something we've never seen before. She squirms herself under a blanket to find her spot every night. When you pet Holly, she lights up. Her whole body wiggles. She does a full wiggle-butt dance, and it's impossible not to smile. She gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. She's loyal, gentle, and well-behaved. She prefers going outside to do her business. Holly is spayed, up to date on shots, and dewormed. Because she bonds closely with her people, we recommend a home with kids over age seven. We've seen zero aggression. She's just a devoted, loving girl. Holly is at the shelter and ready to meet you. Adoption fee: ($0) Adoption fees ($0) has been sponsored with approved application. Submit an application at www.icarearkansas.com/application. Or visit her Saturdays from 9am until noon at the ICARE shelter located at 214 Circle Drive, Melbourne, AR 72556. If you want a loyal best friend who will adore you every day, Holly is your girl.

Story
Mikey came to us with his brother, Monroe.  They are an owner surrender and we were told the parents were Mountain Dog and Heeler.  Mikey has been outside in a pen all of his life and not given much attention, so he is a little shy. He doesn't potty in his pen here, so would be easy to housetrain. Mikey loves to go for walks and chew on bones. He is a pretty neat guy once you get to know him.  If you have any questions or would like to come meet Mikey, please go to our website www.schspets.org and complete an adoption application. We will contact you after that! March 7, 2026, 11:00 am

Story
Hi, I'm Verity, but you can call me Vee. I've been told I'm sweet and friendly, always ready to share a smile with anyone who walks by. I'm independent too, brave enough to explore new corners of my world, but smart enough to know when to stay put. I'm a cuddle bug, and there's nothing I love more than snuggling up for a good petting session. But don't worry, I'm loyal and won't leave your side once we've bonded. I can be a little shy at first, but my curiosity always wins. Adopt me, and let's explore life's mysteries together.May 20, 2026, 8:50 pm
