Ready to adopt? Start by filling out an application at torinkahoots.com or click the Adoption button below—this is the first step to learn more about our animals and for us to get to know you. Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment. Meet Rufus!  Rufus is a 7-month-old neutered male who we believe is a Border Collie/Terrier mix. He and his mom, Miss Birdie, were found running loose in a small town before being picked up by Animal Control. Now he’s ready to find the family he’s been waiting for. Rufus can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a little patience and kindness, and he warms up surprisingly quickly. Once he feels safe, his sweet, playful puppy personality starts to shine. He’s doing great socializing with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. Around cats, he’s curious and has wanted to chase, but he’s responded well while on leash and continues to make progress. Like any young puppy, Rufus is still learning the basics. He’s working on his house manners and leash manners and will thrive with a family willing to continue his training. He’s a smart boy with lots of potential and will do best in a home that can provide both mental stimulation and daily activity. If you’re looking for a loyal young companion and don’t mind putting in a little time to help him build confidence, Rufus is ready to reward you with a lifetime of love. Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed.  Adoption fee is $250.00  We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things.  We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.   ##2793587##

Story
Jax is a very loving dog. He is great with adults and children but needs to be the only dog. He does have food aggression when another dog is present. He has worked with trainers and we have kept up on the training but he just can't get past the aggression when food is around. That is his only flaw. He loves to go for runs and hike! He makes a wonderful movie buddy to snuggle up with. He will do anything for a treat and a cuddle! He needs a family that does not have another dog and has time to take him for walks, etc. He has lots of energy! Overall Jax is a wonderful dog besides the food aggression. This is very hard for our family to do but, it is unfair to our senior dog who we have had longer. We are not asking for a rehoming fee, but we will only give him away to the perfect family. We will ask to meet before we make our decision. Jax is around 7/8 years old.

Story
When meeting new people, Benedict can be a little shy and skittish at first, but once he realizes you`re a friend, he`s happy to accept pets and affection. With a little patience and kindness, his personality continues to shine.Benedict has done well with other male dogs at the shelter, but he can be a bit intense when it comes to food. Because of his food motivation and food guarding tendencies, any introductions to other dogs should be done thoughtfully, and meals and high-value treats should be managed separately. If you`re looking for a smart, loyal companion and are willing to give him a little time to build his confidence, Benedict could be the perfect addition to your family.
