Story
Baloo is a delightful, energetic 9 year old dog. My wife and I have owned him since he was 1. He loves playing fetch more than anything. He is good with kids and adults alike. He is responsive off leash. Loves the car. He is easy going and would happily crawl into your lap to be pet all day. We are sad to be trying to rehome him as he has been a part of our family for 8 years but we have grown and our space has shrunk and we just cant give him the activity and space to roam that he needs. We just had our second kid and we are spread too thinly, but he has been great with our children and and is highly tolerant of the hair pulling and poking that comes along with young children. He gets along with other dogs no problem. He would do best with an active family that can get him the daily activity he needs.

Story
Meet Blue — a gentle adult hound mix with a soft soul and a heart full of love. This sweet boy is simply looking for a cozy couch and a caring home to call his own. Blue can feel a little unsure when he first meets new people or enters new environments, but underneath that initial shyness is a truly gentle-hearted dog. With a little patience and kindness, he quickly begins to relax and show his sweet, affectionate side. He has a calm, soft nature and would likely thrive in a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and enjoy the simple things — quiet companionship, soft beds, and plenty of love. If you’re looking for a tender, loyal companion who will appreciate the comfort of home as much as you do, Blue may be the perfect dog for you.

Story
Meet Blackie One look into Blackie’s eyes, and you can feel it… that quiet, gentle soul just waiting to be loved. Blackie is one of eight dogs we recently took in from a hoarding case. Her world was small, unfamiliar, and overwhelming—and her recovery has been slow, but meaningful. She has come as far as she can with us, and now she needs something more… a home. A very special home. Blackie is not a “typical” adoption. She is a heart project. She will need a person who understands that what she needs right now is socialization, not training. Someone who knows how to let a dog set the pace. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced. The good news? Once you gain that trust—and we truly believe you will—she is going to blossom. What Blackie Needs: A calm, patient home willing to go at her pace An experienced adopter familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs Slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs (she may do well with the right match) No cats or young children (fast movements are still very scary for her) Blackie cannot be cornered, rushed, or pushed. She needs someone with patience, compassion, and the willingness to meet her where she is—every single day. In return, you’ll get something incredibly special: the chance to watch a dog discover love, safety, and life for the very first time. We will be here every step of the way to guide you, and: A site visit will be required Follow-ups will be part of her journey to ensure success If you feel called to be the person who changes Blackie’s life… please reach out. Apply to adopt: www.denkaisanctuary.org/adopt Because dogs like Blackie don’t just need homes…They need humans who understand them. ##2612039##

Story
Meet Cedar   Cedar is an 11-week-old Border Collie/Heeler mix who just came to us this past week—and this boy is sharp. He’s already learned how to sit, picks up on things quickly, and is constantly watching, thinking, and figuring things out. He’s not just a cute puppy… he’s a really intelligent one who’s going to need someone ready to keep up with him.   He’s currently in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and kids. He’s doing well, but he does need a little time to warm up and feel safe before he fully settles in. Once he does, you can see him start to relax and show more of his personality.   Being the biggest of the group, Cedar definitely has a bit of a “boss” mentality—especially around food—so he’s going to need clear boundaries and guidance as he grows. He’s also still working on potty training, so consistency is key.   Cedar isn’t the kind of puppy who will just figure things out on his own—he’s going to thrive with someone experienced in positive reinforcement training who understands how to build trust and give him structure. In the right home, he’s going to be an incredibly loyal, driven, and impressive dog.   If you’re looking for a smart, thoughtful pup and you’re ready to put in the time to help him grow right, Cedar might be your guy. https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2716836&name=Cedar ##2716836##

Story
Meet Clover   Clover is the sister to Cedar and Tulip, and just like her siblings, she’s a bright little Border Collie/Heeler mix with a lot going on behind those eyes. Around 11 weeks old, Clover is already showing off her smarts—she’s picking things up quickly and will absolutely thrive with someone who’s excited to keep her mind busy and keep her learning.   She can be a little unsure when first meeting new people or bigger animals, but she warms up with a little patience (and maybe a few treats). Once she settles in, you start to see her playful, sweet personality come through. She’s currently in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and kids, and is doing well as she continues to build confidence.   Clover is still working on the basics like potty training, so she’ll need a home ready to guide her as she grows. She’d do best with someone who understands her breed mix and is ready for an active, intelligent pup who will want both mental and physical outlets.   If you’re looking for a loyal, clever companion to grow with, Clover might just be your girl   Apply to foster or adopt today! https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2716822&name=Clover ##2716822##

Flossy is one of those dogs that make you think "how is she still here?!" Sweet and playful, Flossy is socialized and confident. She loves playing with a stuffed toy, belly rubs, exploring, and cuddling. She gets along well with humans. I have no qualms taking her into dog-friendly stores or letting strangers give her a treat. An easy companion, she responds well to instruction. She will quickly win your heart and give you hers.
