Story
Hi, I`m Rowe! I`m a silly, adventurous girl who loves hitting the trails and playing in the yard. I`m active, sweet, and looking for a hiking or travel buddy to share the road with! People always tell me I’m beautiful, and I’m inclined to believe them. I can get a little too excited when folks walk by my kennel, but that’s just me saying, “Pick me! I’m ready to go on a walk!” Give me some sunshine, a long walk, and a rope toy to call my own, and I’ll be the happiest girl around. Will you be my buddy?

Clementine – Blue Heeler Mix Puppy   READY TO GO HOME!   Clementine is a gentle, patient, and loving 3 month old Blue Heeler mix who would thrive in a family environment. She adores playing with kids, is incredibly patient with them, and enjoys the company of older dogs. When it’s time to wind down, Clementine loves snuggling up at bedtime.   She has a naturally quiet, easygoing personality for such a young puppy and is unfazed by cats, making her a wonderful fit for a calm or moderately active household. Clementine is fully vetted and ready to head home now with her forever family.   Adoption Application: www.denkaisanctuary.org/adopt ##2581489##

Story
Meet Momma Callie   Please don’t forget about Callie. She may not be the dog who rushes up first, but she is the one who stays with you forever.   Callie is a 2-year-old Blue Heeler mix who came to us after landing in an overcrowded Houston shelter with her newborn puppies. Completely overwhelmed and shut down, she did the very best she could for her babies. Thanks to a wonderful foster in Houston, Callie and her pups were finally able to decompress, heal, and feel safe.   After a brief setback with hair loss and crusty skin that required treatment, the little family made their way to Colorado. All of Callie’s puppies have now found fosters or adopters — and at last, it’s Callie’s turn to be the one cared for.   Callie is shy at first and cautious with new people, animals, and busy environments. But once she feels safe, her walls come down and her goofy side is exposed. She blossoms into a happy, bouncy, silly girl who loves to play and explore. If you take a moment to look into her eyes, you’ll see wisdom and experiences far beyond her years — stories we’ll never fully know, but that have shaped her gentle soul.   With slow, proper introductions, Callie does well with other dogs. She’s also becoming more comfortable with the resident cats and will likely do well in a home with a cat given time and patience. Callie would also do well with older, respectful children who understand how to give her space as she builds trust.   Callie is housetrained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and loads right into the car. She enjoys exploring and has excellent recall once bonded. She does have a touch of escape-artist energy, so a secure fence is important. Callie has been spayed — no more babies for this sweet momma.   Callie needs a calm, patient home that understands shy dogs and allows her to build confidence at her own pace. In return, she will give you deep loyalty, quiet devotion, and the kind of love that grows stronger every day.   Please don’t overlook Callie. She’s been waiting — and she’s ready to finally be chosen.   Adoption Link: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2581361&name=Callie ##2581361##

Story
Surrender Request – Topo Needs a New Home We’ve received a surrender request for Topo, a 5-year-old, 60-lb mixed breed (mostly cattle dog) who was originally adopted from Denkai. His family loves him dearly but has realized he would do best in a home without young children, as they can make him anxious. They’ve made the thoughtful decision to rehome him so he can thrive in a more suitable environment. About Topo:• Male, neutered• Housebroken & leash trained• Rides well in the car• Affectionate, friendly, and very bonded to his people• Healthy, up to date on vet care• Currently on anti-anxiety medication and has worked with a trainer Dog & Cat Socialization:Topo gets along well with many dogs—he especially enjoys playing with submissive or easygoing companions. He can be reactive with reactive dogs, so matching will be important. No known cat interactions noted. ‍‍ Best Home:Topo would do best in a calm home with adults or older kids/teens, and no young children. Current Status:His current family is able to foster him until an appropriate home is found, so he is safe and cared for while we search. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering Topo, please submit an application through Denkai: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt ##874073##
