Story
DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Kira is a beautiful Border Collie ready for her very own forever home. She is the epitome of her breed—intelligent, loyal, energetic, and protective—making her best suited for a family familiar with Border Collies. Kira knows her commands, has perfected her game of fetch, and is always up for an adventure! While she enjoys the company of other dogs, she may need a little extra time to warm up to new canine friends. With people, Kira plays hard to get at first—strangers can be intimidating to her, and she needs time to build trust. After a few visits, she will bond and reveal her goofy, affectionate side with you! Because of her social challenges, Kira is featured as one of ARF's "Diamond in the Ruff," just waiting for the right person to see the gem she truly is! KIRA'S NEEDS: Experienced Owner * Daily Physical & Mental Enrichment * Securely Fenced in Yard * Children 8 + * Work to help with her Stranger Danger *

Story
Edward and his brother, Alphonse, were found abandoned by their owner and taken by local police to a rural North Carolina animal shelter. They recently joined our Connecticut Rescue.  Edward is a gentle soul who seems shy at first meeting. Once he warms up, he has an outgoing personality and intelligence that characterize Border Collies.  Edward is a graceful fella, with a sleek, leggy physique and elongated muzzle. He would be an agility natural. Despite the chaotic shelter process, these pups show no obvious signs of trauma or neglect. Edward would be a great choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to continue training and socialization. He could easily join a multi-dog or cat home with older, playful animals, tolerant of puppy energy. He would thrive with an active family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.  Edward weighs 37 pounds and is projected to grow to 40 to 50 pounds. He is 9 months old. He and his brother are a mix of Border Collie and Pit Bull. All puppies are in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If interested please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Alphonse and his brother, Edward were found abandoned by their owner, and taken by local police to a rural North Carolina animal shelter. They recently joined our Connecticut Rescue.  Alphonse has an outgoing personality and shows the energy and intelligence that characterize Border Collies. Despite the chaotic shelter process, he shows no obvious signs of trauma or neglect.  DNA testing confirmed our guess that Smooth Coat Border Collie is Alphonse’s dominant breed, although 8 other breeds were detected in small measures. There is no mistaking that dramatic Collie profile.  Alphonse has an electric chemistry, and he is athletic and high energy. He would be a great choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to continue training and socialization.  Alphonse could easily join a multi-dog or cat home with older, playful animals tolerant of puppy energy. He would thrive with an active family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.  Alphonse is available solo, or with his brother, Edward, to an adopter seeking a compatible pair. Both puppies are in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If interested please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
