Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MONROE and her 6 siblings were saved from a large hoarding case in Northern Texas (April 2026) where the American Humane were involved due to the scale of abuse and neglect. After getting vetted and healthy they arrived safely to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on 28 May 2026. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet and take home their new best friend! Health & Background Estimated date of birth: 2 February 2026 ✅ Spayed ✅ Rabies and core vaccines up to date ✅ Monthly preventatives ✅ Microchipped with FiNano - registered with Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight approx 20 pounds at end of May MONROE is a sweet puppy, very goofy as to be expected for her age, lots of fun and very affectionate. She does walk on the leash and rides good in the car. I cannot say she is house-trained as she has access to outside pretty much all day and does go outside, but she won't know to let you know she needs to go out - so you must be prepared to help her learn. We are looking for an active family who understands the need of mental stimulation as well as the physical exercise for this intelligent active girl Our adoption fee's are $550 per dog/pup or $1,000 for two. Adoption Details Location: Dover-Foxcroft, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire. Once approved, you’ll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet and hopefully go home together. ⏱️ Applications are generally processed within 24-48 hours Click here for our Application Request Form - to Adopt or Foster!   Want to See More of Pictures? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. BEAU and his 5 siblings were born after their mum, was saved from a large hoarding case in Northern Texas (April 2026) where the American Humane were involved due to the scale of abuse and neglect. "Sweetie" their mum was heavily pregnant and had a rotted, infected foot/leg that caused her leg to need amputation. Luckily she was saved and was able to give birth to 6 healthy pups in the safety of the local animal control department and their foster team.  After getting vetted and old enough to travel (8 wks) they arrived safely at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on 28 May 2026. We had planned to take their mum, Sweetie along with the pups, but we are happy to share that she was a Foster-Fail down in Texas. We welcome adopters from across the East Coast and Canada — many of our families travel to meet and take home their new best friend! Health & Background I was informed by the ladies on transport that they were told that BEAU was deaf. This does appear to be the case and so we are looking for experienced families with another dog to be his hearing companion. Estimated date of birth: 31 March 2026 ✅ Neutered ✅ Core vaccines up to date - too young for Rabies ✅ Monthly preventatives ✅ Microchipped with 24PetWatch - registered with Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight approx. 10 pounds at end of May There is no doubt that BEAU is the cutest, most adorable pup ever. He is fun, goofy, loving, affectionate, smart and very stubborn lol. Of course the fact he is deaf makes him all the more cuter but this does mean he needs a family that has what he needs and the understanding of his needs. Although animals thrive with disabilities and Beau is doing fantastic here with the other pups and the senior dogs, he does miss out on very important cues from the other dogs - that being verbal communication - those low growls from the bigger dogs telling him to back off, other communications he misses, he has to be watching the dogs body language for his communication with them and well lets face it he is a puppy and is interested in everything and anything everywhere. We feel it is important that Beau be adopted with another puppy or to a family that has a dog of up to 1-2 years old at the most. The reason for this is so that they can form a bond, and Beau will follow the cues from the other dog, if Beau is not watching you he will almost definitely follow the other dog if you call them inside from playing in the yard - this is important for safety issues too. Sign language is of course a tool to train him, but sign language is only good when he is looking at you. BEAU needs a family that is active and understands his intelligence and be sure he gets his physical and mental needs met along with that ever so important socialization and exposure to different environments. Our adoption fee's are $550 per dog/pup or $1,000 for two. Adoption Details Location: Dover-Foxcroft, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire. Story
Through no fault of his own, tiny baby Jax found himself at a crowded Louisiana pound in early March. He was soon pulled by a local rescue and has been thriving and growing in foster care ever since. We aren't sure of Jax's history or breed make up, but our best guess is Border Collie x Australian Shepherd mix. As of May 14th, he is 4 months old and weighs 26 lbs. We expect him to be around 50 lbs at maturity. Jax's foster mom says, "He is playful and LOVES toys, especially his giant turtle... when he was smaller, he curled up and slept on it and now he still tries to sleep on his turtle. There aren't many things that Jax does not love but some of his favorites are: playing outside, playing with our dog, playing with the neighborhood kids, playing in water, food (he is VERY food motivated and eats from a slow feeder bowl). He is doing well with learning to potty outside. He will whine/bark when he needs to go outside. He has the cutest little ears and really seems to listen when you talk to him and even tilts his head from side to side. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and does listen if you tell him "no"." Jax is a wonderful pup who has had a great start in foster care and is now ready for a forever family to continue his training and help him grow up to be the best boy he can be! Jax's album with more photos + video clips: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BytYMFQbPVhucrzG7 You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser. Jax has completed his full series of puppy shots and is current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention and deworming. He will be neutered and microchipped in late May and then will be ready to travel to his forever home! Jax is currently in foster care in North Louisiana, but we welcome out of state adoptions. We have an amazing transport that delivers all along the East Coast... PA, NJ, CT, NY, VT. PAWS of NE LA was formed back in 2003, and we have been sending our special Southern dogs to wonderful homes up North since 2010.

Story
Some dogs just want a home. Max wants his person. The kind of person he can nap beside after a long day of playing outside. The kind that laughs at his goofy big-baby personality, gives him a sunny spot to lay in, and keeps a few treats nearby because food is absolutely the way to his heart. And those big brown eyes? They look at you with so much love and hope it’s impossible not to feel something. The kind of eyes that make you wonder how he’s still waiting for someone to choose him. He’s learning beautifully, loving deeply, and trying so hard to be someone’s perfect dog. All he’s missing now is his forever home.

When your application is approved, we put you in touch with the foster for FaceTime so you can see your puppy in real time and ask questions. It's a process that's worked for hundreds of dogs over the past fifteen years.

Max is neutered, rabies, puppy vaccines and boosters, microchip, dewormed, parasite prevention. He comes with medical records.

Max is approximately 5 months old and weighs about 30 pounds. He has big bones and will likely grow over 60 pounds.

Max lives In a Foster Home with a working couple, adult dogs, 3 puppies, and cats. His fosters think a lot of him and are anxious to speak with you and tell you how smart this beautiful dog is!

There is lots of room to write on the application. Please tell us about yourself, and your pets, current or previous.

Transport arrives 6/5 with our adopted dogs. $585 total adoption fee includes transportation and a health certificate from a licensed vet. Serious adopters should fill out the application online and we'll be in touch in a day or two.

Story
✨ Meet Snow White ✨ Once upon a time, Snow White was the devoted mom to seven adorable “dwarves.” After the whole family was rescued from being dumped on the side of the road, Snow lovingly raised her babies—and now that all of them have found homes, it’s finally Snow’s turn to shine! Snow White is a sweet, affectionate girl who truly enjoys human companionship. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality blossoms. When she gets excited, she’ll do joyful zoomies around the yard, ears flopping in the most endearing way—it’s impossible not to smile. She’s a fairly neat and well-mannered gal who does well in a kennel, so we think she’ll transition nicely into a home of her own. Snow loves attention, toys, and snacks, and she thrives with people who want to include her in their daily lives. An active home is a must—Snow is no couch potato and would love a family who enjoys playtime and outdoor fun. Snow would do best as the only pet in the home, as other dogs or cats can be a bit too stimulating for her. She’s happiest when she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with a heart as big as her story, Snow White might just be your happily-ever-after. 💙 Snow White is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
