Story
Through no fault of his own, tiny baby Jax found himself at a crowded Louisiana pound in early March. He was soon pulled by a local rescue and has been thriving and growing in foster care ever since. We aren't sure of Jax's history or breed make up, but our best guess is Border Collie x Australian Shepherd mix. As of May 14th, he is 4 months old and weighs 26 lbs. We expect him to be around 50 lbs at maturity. Jax's foster mom says, "He is playful and LOVES toys, especially his giant turtle... when he was smaller, he curled up and slept on it and now he still tries to sleep on his turtle. There aren't many things that Jax does not love but some of his favorites are: playing outside, playing with our dog, playing with the neighborhood kids, playing in water, food (he is VERY food motivated and eats from a slow feeder bowl). He is doing well with learning to potty outside. He will whine/bark when he needs to go outside. He has the cutest little ears and really seems to listen when you talk to him and even tilts his head from side to side. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and does listen if you tell him "no"." Jax is a wonderful pup who has had a great start in foster care and is now ready for a forever family to continue his training and help him grow up to be the best boy he can be! Jax's album with more photos + video clips: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BytYMFQbPVhucrzG7 You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser. Jax has completed his full series of puppy shots and is current on heartworm/flea/tick prevention and deworming. He will be neutered and microchipped in late May and then will be ready to travel to his forever home! Jax is currently in foster care in North Louisiana, but we welcome out of state adoptions. We have an amazing transport that delivers all along the East Coast... PA, NJ, CT, NY, VT. PAWS of NE LA was formed back in 2003, and we have been sending our special Southern dogs to wonderful homes up North since 2010.

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Whitney a possibly a Border Collie mixed with Red Heeler. DOB 2/1/26; currently about 30# and will probably get to be 45-50#s, best guess. She is the most adorable puppy EVER! She is enthusiastic & confident; curious & playful; and very smart. She has almost mastered walking on a leash and she is good in her crate. She loves car rides. She is mostly quiet in the kennel, except when she needs to do her business! She loves people and dogs of All sizes and ages. Because she is young, we don’t recommend very young children be around her. In her puppy playfulness, she would probably knock the little ones down. Curious, interested in cats but not aggressive. Loves treats so she will be easy to train. She plays with the rope toy or stick with you, but she does not return it yet. She definitely acts goofy when she plays but also loves to snuggle in your lap. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. Story
Freckles across his nose, a little black “Batman mask,” happy tippy-taps when he’s excited, and a heart that clearly wants to belong… this is Holliday. Equal parts goofy charm and affectionate shadow, Holliday is the kind of dog who leans all the way into love. His biggest dream? A couch, a person, and permission to pretend he’s a lap dog. Want to see those adorable tippy taps and that little masked face in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about the boy who believes every good day should include affection, snacks, and a welcoming lap to climb into. https://youtu.be/lPFbycVn8XA Holliday is estimated to be about 2 years old and appears to be a Border Collie mix but given he is a rescue, breed and birthday cannot be guaranteed. From the moment you meet him, Holliday’s affectionate nature is easy to see. He absolutely lights up when people give him attention and has a charming little habit of doing “tippy taps” with his feet when he’s happy or excited. It’s the kind of happy motion that makes everyone around him smile whether they are meeting for the first time or its a familiar connection. And inside its only sweeter, he is affectionate and his aspirations for lap-dog life really shine. Holliday is more than happy to make the first move and will come in close to soak up the love and lean in for a new nestling nose kisses. He is still learning some of the everyday things that come with the cozy life as a family dog. For example, couches were a new concept to him. When invited up, he wasn’t quite sure how to get there at first and needed a little boost. Moments like that tell us he’s likely still discovering what a comfortable home life looks like. The good news is that he’s eager to connect with people, smart and very responsive to guidance, which makes him a wonderful boy to open your heart and home to. On leash, Holliday is enthusiastic and currently pulls a bit, especially when he sees other dogs he’d like to meet. Much of his life before rescue life was spent on a very short leash outdoors so the world is understandably very exciting to him right now. With a confident understanding handler he has been making great progress with continued leash training. He is also very responsive to direction, correction, and listens well when told “no.” With other dogs, Holliday shows friendly curiosity. When meeting dogs he likes to sniff hello and then wander off to explore the yard. Play is still a bit of a mystery to him, but with the right dog companion we have seen he learns quickly and is easily invited to play even if she doesn’t know the steps after that. When meeting new dogs he reads them well and respects boundaries and limits easily. We can see him being a wonderful fit for a home with medium-energy, similarly sized dogs. Holliday is also very food motivated, which is wonderful for training. He eats enthusiastically and takes treats gently. Because Holliday can be a little jumpy, which he is working on, when he’s excited to receive affection, we think he’ll do best in a home with older kids who won’t be knocked over by his enthusiastic greetings. His affection truly comes from a joyful place and is gentle, not rough or heavy footed. He just hasn’t quite learned yet that hugs don’t always have to involve all four feet leaving the ground, but some people do enjoy those big, warm dog hugs. A home with a yard would be ideal for Holliday while he continues building his leash skills, giving him space to stretch his legs and explore safely. With time, guidance, and a loving environment, we think this freckled little masked hero is going to blossom into a wonderful, lap-loving, whole-new-world companion and sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who will greet you with tippy taps, shower you with affection, and happily grow alongside you as he learns what family life is all about, Holliday is your guy! Story
✨ Meet Snow White ✨ Once upon a time, Snow White was the devoted mom to seven adorable “dwarves.” After the whole family was rescued from being dumped on the side of the road, Snow lovingly raised her babies—and now that all of them have found homes, it’s finally Snow’s turn to shine! Snow White is a sweet, affectionate girl who truly enjoys human companionship. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality blossoms. When she gets excited, she’ll do joyful zoomies around the yard, ears flopping in the most endearing way—it’s impossible not to smile. She’s a fairly neat and well-mannered gal who does well in a kennel, so we think she’ll transition nicely into a home of her own. Snow loves attention, toys, and snacks, and she thrives with people who want to include her in their daily lives. An active home is a must—Snow is no couch potato and would love a family who enjoys playtime and outdoor fun. Snow would do best as the only pet in the home, as other dogs or cats can be a bit too stimulating for her. She’s happiest when she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with a heart as big as her story, Snow White might just be your happily-ever-after. 💙 Snow White is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
