He was originally rescued from Puerto Rico in 2021 and, through no fault of his own, found his way back into our care in 2024 after an incident involving another dog and circumstances that made it impossible for his adopter to keep him. Kiko is not a bad dog. He is smart, confident, and communicative, and he does well with other dogs when given clear structure and proper introductions. He can be corrective in his interactions, which simply means he understands boundaries and benefits from guidance and consistency. With people, Kiko is sweet, affectionate, and engaging. He would thrive best in a home with adults only or with older children who understand and respect his boundaries. A home with someone who has moderate dog experience would be ideal, as Kiko responds well to confident, thoughtful leadership.
