Story
Naomi is an adorable herding-type girl whose intelligence, enthusiasm, and playful spirit are exactly what you’d expect from this active breed group. She recently joined staff for a lunch outing and showed just how fun she can be. Naomi loaded easily into the car and, after some excited wiggling at the start of the adventure, settled in nicely for the ride. At the café she walked politely, sat calmly while food was ordered, and relaxed in the sunshine once everyone was seated. Naomi truly shines when she gets to move—she loved zooming around on a long line, splashing in the water, and rolling in the grass. She’s highly treat-motivated and already knows cues like sit, speak, and paw, with down still being a work in progress. Like many herding dogs, she can get a little overstimulated during play and may jump up or grab at arms while vocalizing, but she responds well to redirection and is eager to learn. Now living in a foster home, Naomi is thriving and showing what a wonderful companion she can be. She rides well in the car, is house trained, and does well when left home alone. She enjoys playdates with a friend’s dog and gets along great with her canine buddy. While she hasn’t yet been around cats or children in the foster home, she has been a fantastic houseguest and continues to show her happy, affectionate personality. Naomi would do best in an active home that can give her the exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training that her smart herding brain craves. In return, she’ll reward her adopter with endless fun, loyalty, and the joy of sharing life with a truly special dog.

Story
Stewie is a 6mo 31lb, heartworm negative intact male heeler mix who was found after being hit by car; his medical findings include muscle wasting, cataracts, and trouble ambulating. While initially not very responsive, as he has improved medically Stewie has let his silly personality shine despite his impairments. Stewie would benefit from a foster home or rescue partner who can dedicate time to his rehabilitation and ongoing care.

Story

I love chasing squirrels and to look out of the window.Do you think I’d be a great match for your family?** Best with a fenced in home or room to run and is safe.
