Story
Scout is a nearly two year old purebred border collie I got from a reputable breeder. Scout is very easy going and friendly. He loves being outdoors. I will only consider rehoming to a new owner that owns a minimum of 0.5 acres fenced and another animal. I am only rehoming because I can not give Scout the outside time he needs.

Story
Merida is a sweet, nervous young dog who warms up beautifully once she feels safe—give her a little time, and she’ll attach herself to your side and follow you everywhere. She seems to favor men but happily sought out attention from a female handler and even gently approached dog-savvy children, eventually resting her head in the oldest child’s lap each evening. Merida isn’t food-motivated, isn’t interested in toys, and knows few commands, but she walks politely on leash (though she may circle you or slip between your legs). She enjoys other dogs and may even be a future water-lover after climbing into a trough; she was also appropriate with confident cats, showing more interest when they ran. Indoors she is polite, housebroken, and crate-trained, though she will bark and pace when crated or left alone, suggesting possible separation anxiety. She doesn’t counter-surf, didn’t attempt to escape a four-foot fence, and simply needs help loading into the car. With patience, confidence-building, and basic training, Merida has all the makings of a wonderful companion once she finds her person.

Story
This is Diego. He's an 11 month old Aussie mix that needs a foster home. He was a "free dog" online and the original owners did not represent him honestly with the new owners. Things are not working out and he needs to be properly placed (after full vetting). He is scheduled dor neuter on Tuesday. We hope to have a foster in place by then. He's great with his people and FEMALE dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown because the family does not have cats. There was a pretty bad fight between Diego and the senior male dog in this family. Since the fight the family has been distrusting of his behavior around the four-year-old as well so to be safe they have kept them separate. This is why he has to go. For this reason, we do not want him fostered with male dogs until he has been vetted and properly evaluated. We also do not feel that he should be placed in a home with young children until vetting and evaluation. He's a beautiful boy and deserves a happily ever after. We can help him find it!! It may well be he just needs his testosterone to be taken care of. Many dogs settle down after neuter and it's never fair to these animals when the original owners do not divulge all the information to the new owners. We feel this is a combination of situations that has just worked against Diego. Foster application can be filled out through this link: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/31711/generic If you fill out a foster application please give our director a heads up as we do not have a volunteer readily responding to applications at this time. It helps us to know that one has been submitted. You may text Aspen at 352-843-6858 ##1357659##
