Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster.  This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their  pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is  unavailable for adoption.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster  to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The  adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive  family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal  reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We  always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are  not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file  for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at  MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue  Inc.  ##2514098##

Story
Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.

Story
Moon is a very loving and protective dog. She doesn't attach easily but when she does, you know she's your human. She is my 14 year olds dog but unfortunately living situations have changed and she does not do well in an apartment. This is mainly because I work overnights so she is left alone at night which she isn't used to. She has been with either people or other dogs and this has caused her separation anxiety. I'm looking for a home for her that can provide the time and energy that she deserves. She is 4 years old austrailian shepherd/ border collie mix.

Story
Kevin is a Lab/Border Collie mix, born in 2021.  The perfect home for Kevin would be with someone who can give him daily exercise and stiumlation.  He needs a fenced yard with room to explore and lounge.  Kevin is a very smart dog and enjoys being challenged with different activities.  He is okay with kids, he would be better off in a home with no young kids (age 6+ would be okay).  Other dogs might be okay, but the first introduction would need to be slow. Kevin is very well house trained.  He participated in a two-week obedience stay and learned a lot!  He knows how to sit, lay down, place and stay (depending on the situation).  Kevin tends to bark sometimes - specifically more protective if someone comes to the door or is outside the house.  He will also bark if he sees something in the back yard and wants to go out.  Kevin has been a little reactive to men, but should warm up if he gets to know someone. Kevin LOVES to be active - he would run and play all day long if given the opportunity.  He would love the chance to become part of your family.  He's such a friendly and sweet guy!   The suggested adoption donation for Kevin is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Meet Stevie, a 4-year-old purebred Red Merle Australian Shepherd. She is a sweet, gentle, and highly intelligent girl who is kennel trained and knows basic commands. She has been raised around children, cats, and other dogs. She is a high-drive working breed that thrives when she has a 'job' to do. She is not a fit for a sedentary or lazy home; she needs a dedicated, active owner who can provide daily mental and physical stimulation, like puzzle toys or a herding ball in a secure yard. We love her dearly, but her high activity and grooming needs are beyond what our current lifestyle can provide. We are looking for an experienced home that understands the Australian Shepherd breed and is ready to give her the active life she deserves. Serious inquiries only, please.
