Story
Meet Dublin! 🍀 Dublin is a 1-year-old Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime. This handsome boy is smart, curious, and always ready to turn an ordinary moment into a game. Chasing a ball, going for walks, or tossing around his favorite stuffy toys are some of Dublin’s favorite ways to spend the day. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys staying busy and having fun with his people, and he’s always happy to be part of the action. Dublin is also a bright young dog who enjoys learning and interacting with the people around him. When the fun winds down, he’s more than happy to soak up attention and enjoy some well-earned affection. If you’re looking for a playful, clever companion who will keep life interesting, Dublin might just be your perfect match. Submit an adoption survey at al-van.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Cooper; She is very sweet girl, who is looking for her fur-ever home. We believe she is around 3-4 years old and is a cattle dog mix. She came to us when her owner passed away and the other owner couldn’t care for her. Due to her breed or mix of breeds we are looking for a very specific home for her where she will be set up best for success! Cooper is pretty reactive towards people on leash and will nip at shins or ankles. She enjoys lots of exercise, biking right now seems to be her favorite. She’d probably do best as an only dog, as loves all the attention on her! She has had some interaction with other dogs on leash and she will correct them if their energy becomes to much for her.   Cooper also needs a kid free home.   We are requiring that her fur-ever home have heeler experience and be committed to getting her the training that she needs. Cooper will also need someone who is willing to do some training with her. **Cooper being a heeler mix does have high herding tendencies, and has a single “bite history” as she nipped someone in the calf.     An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.August 4, 2026, 10:45 pm

Story
This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family, but we are looking to rehome our beloved 6 year-old Blue Heeler. She is such a sweet, loving dog who is wonderful with kids of all ages and other dogs. We have two toddlers with another baby on the way. She has always been kind and affectionate with our girls. However, she gets very excited and knocks them over when playing/running through the house/yard. With our busy work schedules, we are unable to give her the attention, exercise, and adventure that she needs. We want her to go to a family who loves heelers and has experience with them if possible. She is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, house trained, and crate trained. Our priority is finding the right family for her. We are in no rush and want to make sure it's the perfect fit. Located in Holland, MI.
