Story
Meet Radish! He is crate trained and enjoys his safe haven! He’s also completely potty trained, has never went in the house. He can be shy with new people but is becoming more brave! He knows sit and lay down. Working on come, stay, and leave it. He is very sweet but takes some time to warm up, so whoever has interest in him will need to be patient with him. Radish came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs, so he is learning to trust, and that life doesn’t have to be so scary. He is starting to enjoy cuddles and likes to give kisses. Once he’s warmed up he loves to play with his toys and likes to throw them in the air. He really likes toys that he can swing back and forth and loves chew. He hasn’t been around cats or children but does well with other dogs. If you would like to meet Radish, fill out an application on our website unchainedmelodies.org/adopt/ *All UMDR dogs are up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, spayed/neutered and microchipped *No Out of State Adoptions *No Invisible fences

Story
Inquires submitted via this site are not sent to Unchained Melodies staff, please apply at https://unchainedmelodies.org/adopt/ Meet Jake Jake is a 3 year old Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a spirit built for adventure. Jake can be quite shy at first but he warms up quickly! At around 50 pounds, he’s the perfect mix of active and affectionate. He is also a protector, and an alert barker. Jake loves hard and attaches quickly to his person. Jake takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s gentle, affectionate, and loyal. This sweet, smart guy knows several commands including “sit,” “shake,” “come,” “sit up,” and “go lay down.” Jake walks beautifully on a leash, walks are truly his love language and 100% his favorite thing to do. He’s lived with a small dog in his foster home and is respectful when his play attempts are declined. He’s also been in another foster home with a medium sized dog he loves to play with and a cat whose boundaries he respects! We think the best home for Jake would be with a playful dog, possibly a cat friend and definitely would love to have a fenced yard and someone active that will walk him daily. If you’re looking for a faithful sidekick who will happily join you on life’s adventures and then snuggle up by your side at the end of the day, Jake might just be your perfect match. Apply to meet Jake! https://unchainedmelodies.org/adopt/ All UMDR dogs are up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, spayed/neutered and microchipped. *No Out of State Adoptions *No Apartment Living for this boy *No electric fencing

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Meet Sasuke (like the motorcycle). He is a beautiful 4 yr old smooth coat, black and white Border Collie, about 50 lbs. After living with a family since a puppy, life changes brought him into Rescue. Sasuke absolutely adores his humans and wants to be wherever they are. He is a curious, sweet boy that loves meeting and interacting with people. He  has lived with small children in his previous home. Foster Dad had holiday parties, Sasuke was one of the official greeters. He eagerly hops in the car and travels well, up for any adventure. Sasuke loves all toys, squeaky stuffie, Gameboy, is the current favorite. He enjoys playing ball or frisbee in the yard, or picking up the largest stick for you to throw again and again. Sasuke really loves his foster brother and sister, playing endless chase games in the yard, and seriously on “watch patrol” trio if needed in the house. He likes all dogs that he has met, very social. He lived with a cat in his previous home. Sasuke I has a lot of energy and would enjoy an active person or loving family. He loves walks, may be a good running companion, hiking, camping, just being active with his people. He knows “sit, down, give, shake”, and has excellent recall. Sasuke does have a good “off” switch after daily play or adventure. He will happily join you on the couch, or bed for a cuddle, and snuggle, or curled up as a foot warmer. Does Sasuke sound like the perfect addition to your family? Complete an application to adopt, meet Sasuke @ MoKanBCRescue.org He is up to date on all vaccines, on Heartworm, flea and tick prevention, and neutered. He is crate trained and house broken.  Sasuke is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Click here to watch a video of Sasuke.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Copper is a 5 year old, high energy 48 pound purebred border collie who recently lost the loving home he had since puppyhood. This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. A home without cats or caged small pets is a must. If he sounds like a great addition to your family, complete an adoption application on the Mo-Kan website. Copper is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am

Ranger is currently growing like a weed and is suspected to have some Pyrenees / Livestock Guardian Dog in him. Ranger gets along great with cats, doesn’t inappropriately jump or snap, and gives them lots of space when needed. He does love to engage them in play, and loves it when his foster mom’s cat chases him around the kitchen! He gets along well with other dogs but is not good with boundaries, especially with adult dogs as they get tired of him jumping on their backs. However, when playing with other high energy puppies, there are no issues. He would do well in an active home, and is showing some promise with the frisbee. He’s got great drive and a natural fetch. Ranger gets the zoomies frequently throughout the day and would do well with a large yard or nearby park to run around in. Once fully drained of energy, he does turn into a cuddle bug. But only once the battery has died… lol. He is fully crate trained and does well on car rides. Be warned, if he starts to bark, it’s because he needs to go potty. Do not ignore the bark! Ranger is being fostered in the St. Louis, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Ranger.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 4, 2026, 9:51 am

Chou Chou is a 5 year old tri-color Border Collie with a loving & playful personality. He’s extremely smart, focused, and high energy. Playtime is his absolute favorite part of the day. Is there anything better? Not according to Chou Chou!  Balls, discs, sticks, anything is game. He’s even proficient at carrying two toys at once! Someone with breed experience that can keep up with his energy would be ideal. When toys are out of the question, he is a big love bug. He enjoys giving hugs, receiving belly rubs, and serving as a foot warmer. He loves all people but is best suited for a home where he is the only dog. Chou Chou would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children. Chou Chou is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys car rides. He gets so excited to jump in for a ride! He’s a good eater and is learning to work for treats. He has exhibited resource guarding over his food once. Chou Chou enjoys walks but is working to improve his leash manners. Chou Chou is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is ready to find an active, breed-savvy home to call his own. Chou Chou is being fostered in the Waynesville, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Chou Chou.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am
