He is a beautiful 4 yr old smooth coat, black and white Border Collie, about 50 lbs. After living with a family since a puppy, life changes brought him into Rescue. Sasuke absolutely adores his humans and wants to be wherever they are. He is a curious, sweet boy that loves meeting and interacting with people. He  has lived with small children in his previous home. Foster Dad had holiday parties, Sasuke was one of the official greeters. He eagerly hops in the car and travels well, up for any adventure. Sasuke loves all toys, squeaky stuffie, Gameboy, is the current favorite. He enjoys playing ball or frisbee in the yard, or picking up the largest stick for you to throw again and again. Sasuke really loves his foster brother and sister, playing endless chase games in the yard, and seriously on “watch patrol” trio if needed in the house. He likes all dogs that he has met, very social. He lived with a cat in his previous home. Sasuke I has a lot of energy and would enjoy an active person or loving family. He loves walks, may be a good running companion, hiking, camping, just being active with his people. He knows “sit, down, give, shake”, and has excellent recall. Sasuke does have a good “off” switch after daily play or adventure. He will happily join you on the couch, or bed for a cuddle, and snuggle, or curled up as a foot warmer. Does Sasuke sound like the perfect addition to your family? Complete an application to adopt, meet Sasuke @ MoKanBCRescue.org He is up to date on all vaccines, on Heartworm, flea and tick prevention, and neutered. He is crate trained and house broken.  Sasuke is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Click here to watch a video of Sasuke.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am

This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. A home without cats or caged small pets is a must. If he sounds like a great addition to your family, complete an adoption application on the Mo-Kan website. Copper is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am

Ranger is currently growing like a weed and is suspected to have some Pyrenees / Livestock Guardian Dog in him. Ranger gets along great with cats, doesn’t inappropriately jump or snap, and gives them lots of space when needed. He does love to engage them in play, and loves it when his foster mom’s cat chases him around the kitchen! He gets along well with other dogs but is not good with boundaries, especially with adult dogs as they get tired of him jumping on their backs. However, when playing with other high energy puppies, there are no issues. He would do well in an active home, and is showing some promise with the frisbee. He’s got great drive and a natural fetch. Ranger gets the zoomies frequently throughout the day and would do well with a large yard or nearby park to run around in. Once fully drained of energy, he does turn into a cuddle bug. But only once the battery has died… lol. He is fully crate trained and does well on car rides. Be warned, if he starts to bark, it’s because he needs to go potty. Do not ignore the bark! Ranger is being fostered in the St. Louis, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Ranger.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 4, 2026, 6:02 pm

Chou Chou is a 5 year old tri-color Border Collie with a loving & playful personality. He’s extremely smart, focused, and high energy. Playtime is his absolute favorite part of the day. Is there anything better? Not according to Chou Chou!  Balls, discs, sticks, anything is game. He’s even proficient at carrying two toys at once! Someone with breed experience that can keep up with his energy would be ideal. When toys are out of the question, he is a big love bug. He enjoys giving hugs, receiving belly rubs, and serving as a foot warmer. He loves all people but is best suited for a home where he is the only dog. Chou Chou would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children. Chou Chou is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys car rides. He gets so excited to jump in for a ride! He’s a good eater and is learning to work for treats. He has exhibited resource guarding over his food once. Chou Chou enjoys walks but is working to improve his leash manners. Chou Chou is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is ready to find an active, breed-savvy home to call his own. He is the best cuddle partner; yet enjoys his independence too. Cutter is friendly to all humans, small children as well. He loves his person and will be a loyal companion. Cutter has a sensitive nature and wants to please. He learns quickly. Cutter is a beautiful black and white Border Collie. He is around 11 months, 35 lbs, with a soft, very silky, long haired coat. He is housetrained, leash trained, and crate trained. He also knows sit and down and will continue to learn more obedience as he is fostered. He’s a good car rider and rides quietly. Cutter gets along with all dogs; but, sometimes he does not like sharing his human. Cutter also will not share his bowl of food, and should be fed in his kennel; yet, will sit quietly amongst other dogs for treats. Cutter is living with four other dog siblings and is showing regular improvement on his resource guarding of food and his human. Cutter has not be tested on cats but when he has been around them on occasion, he ignores the cats. He can become overwhelmed in a new environment, but totally non aggressive and just needs to learn he’s safe. Cutter's energy level is low for the Border Collie breed. He is happy to hang out and watch his person, whether cuddling on the couch or helping in the kitchen.  At this time, he shows little interest in interacting with toys or playing fetch.  If you are wanting a loyal companion who will watch over you, your family and home, handsome, young Cutter would be an excellent choice. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm, negative and on flea tick and heartworm prevention. Cutter is being fostered in the Sedalia, MO area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 15, 2026, 10:58 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Courtesy PostCourtesy Post.  See contact info at the end of bio. Pepper is a 2.5-year-old Border Collie with a sweet, goofy demeanor. She  was abandoned after not making the cut as a working dog on a cattle farm  (apparently, she preferred playing with the herd). She was found very  underweight with several short-term health conditions, suggesting a  significant amount of time away from care. She now has a clean bill of  health.   Pepper is big for a female Border Collie, with sturdy arms, big paws,  and a hard head. She’s an inch taller and two inches longer than her  foster brothers, who are both 50-pound male Border Collies. When she was  found, she was a 3 on the body condition chart at 54 pounds. She’s now  very healthy at 65 pounds. Through the process of trying to find her  owner, her breeder was found and claims Pepper is an ABCA Border Collie  with an Irish working dog pedigree. Though she shows signs of that  herding speed and explosiveness, she seems to need less occupation than  her 10+ year-old foster brothers.  Despite coming from a farm, Pepper is housebroken, kennel trained, and  good on a leash. In a short amount of time, she’s learned the routine  of her foster parents’ dogs, catching on to schedules and everyday  commands and fitting in well much of the time. With some initial  boundary setting, she’s respectful of what furniture is pet approved.  Pepper has improved greatly on appeasement behaviors, but will still  lick hands, whimper, or vocalize like a husky when she’s excited.  She’ll let out a groan of disapproval otherwise. Pepper is very  friendly with everyone she meets and is gentle with her foster  family’s toddler. While she likes to play outside, go on walks and car  rides, and run with her foster brothers in the backyard, she’s always  the first dog to chill out on her own and is very content hanging out  near the couch, on a dog bed, or on the patio. Pepper is still a puppy  and loves keeping herself busy with chew toys… she’ll find her own  if pet-friendly chew toys aren’t around. Pepper should not be off  leash.  Unfortunately, she butts heads with her foster brothers pretty often.  Pepper is not aggressive or an instigator, but she is ignorant to her  foster brothers’ signals and space. Often absentmindedly getting  between them and their favorite toys, beds, bowls, etc., they’ll growl  or snip, which has caused outbursts. She’s also working on the “let  go” portion of fetch & play, triggering some territorial disputes over  toys. Other times she’ll be submissive and allow herself to be herded  by her brothers. Her foster parents are working on the situation but  haven’t had a lot of success (three hard heads). All that said, Pepper  does not like to be left out and is most comfortable being where her  brothers or the people are. During her first few days, she had signs of  separation anxiety like whining in her crate, looking to get around/over  a fence if her parents were on opposite side of it, and barking if she  wasn’t doing the same activity as her brothers. This improved greatly  after about 2-3 days of learning a new routine, so we suspect she has  some worries about abandonment.  Pepper wants a family with a yard to play in and sidewalks to get  exercise on. We believe she’d do great with any age of people. As far  as pet companions, the right balance would need to be struck. Pepper  would do great around other cheerfully unconcerned dogs who aren’t  territorial. We believe she’d do better with a friend but could adjust  to the single-dog role after catching on to her new family’s routine.  If interested in applying for Pepper please email Jon at   hill.jont@gmail.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am

My foster mom named me after Tony Stark (Ironman.) I’m an approximately 6 month old and currently weighing about 30lbs & 19 inches tall. My foster mom did a DNA test for me and I’m primarily Australian Shepherd, Cattle dog, & Border Collie. I was pulled from a shelter before the holidays and have been so loved by my foster family. Now I’m ready to find my forever family! I’m crate trained and sleep quietly all night in my crate. I’m also potty trained and will go to the door/gate to let you know I need out! I’m pretty good on leash but I’m still learning about keeping four paws on the floor. I just get so excited! I’ll need my new family to continue working with me on my manners since I’m such a young guy. I love to learn new things, especially when you use yummy treats. I have SUPER food drive! I have a lot of toy drive as well. My energy level is high so I would love to find an active family who is dedicated to continue training. I even have potential as a sport dog. I’m very eager to learn & pick things up fast. I love having other dogs to play with and I’m even great with the 4 kids in my foster home! I absolutely love them. I’m a sweetheart who loves to snuggle after a day of playing and training. I also ride well in the car if you like going on adventures. I am up to date on vaccines, microchipped, & neutered. Henry loves everyone and would be a great family pet.  He gets along with other dogs and loves to play with his foster brothers.  He likes cats but does think they should be his friend and doesn’t understand why they don’t feel the same! Henry is house trained and crate trained, rides well in the car ( but still gets nauseous at times) and is doing pretty well on leash walking. Henry’s favorite things are Benebones, stuffed Kongs, belly rubs and romps with this friends.  He also likes the baby pool, going on walks and watching over the yard from the deck. He is slowly getting more interested in toys but so far has no interest in fetch.  He has moderate food drive. Henry does like to chase cars while on walks so this is something he has been working on but it will likely be a long term process.  He is also working on basic manners and obedience.  He is a typical young cattle dog and someone with breed experience and willingness to continue his training will be the ideal home.  That said, he is of moderate energy and does not necessarily  need a working or sport home, just a family to love him and keep him busy.  Henry will need a 4 foot or higher above ground fence to keep him safe.  He is being fostered in the Ozark, MO area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 10:23 am

Quincy is a 1-year-old Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix with a whole lot of heart packed into a petite 30 lbs. He came to us from a California shelter where he was sadly out of time, and we’re so glad he got his second chance. Now that he’s settling into a routine, Quincy is showing just how special he is. The Good Stuff (and there’s a lot!)  •  Very dog friendly! Quincy loves other dogs and especially enjoys a rowdy playmate. He’s enthusiastic but respectful and takes corrections well from older, grumpier dogs.  •  Food drive: OFF THE CHARTS. Truly a 10/10. Quincy will happily work for snacks and learns FAST. In just a week he’s mastered sit (with eye contact!), down, spin/twist, and pedestal/Klimb. If you’ve ever dreamed of an eager trainee—this is your guy. •  Crate & kennel trained. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. •  Super affectionate. Quincy is a cuddler and loves being close to his people. •  Great car rider. Ready for adventures near and far! •  Toy drive is moderate. He naturally fetches to hand and likes balls and squeaky toys (hasn’t discovered tug or disc yet). Things He’s Still Working On •  Confidence building. When Quincy first arrived, he showed lots of appeasement behaviors (jumping, licking hands, groveling). This has already improved tremendously, and he continues to gain confidence every day. We suspect his past wasn’t always kind.       The Perfect Home With patient, positive training, Quincy will shine as a family pet, adventure buddy, or even a future sport prospect. He’s smart, eager, affectionate, and trying so hard to be the best boy. He is up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. If you’re looking for a sweet, trainable Border Collie who’s ready to blossom with the right person—Quincy might just be your perfect match. Quincy is being fostered in the St. Louis, MO area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 3:37 pm
