Story
Hi there! I'm Twinkle, a 4-year-old white and black Border Collie mix with a heart as bright as my name suggests. 🐕 I'm spayed and ready to settle into a loving home where I can be your gentle, smart companion. I do best with patient, calm people — I'm naturally quiet and a little shy, but I warm up beautifully once I know you — and I'm great with both men and women. Please note that vet visits require extra care and patience with me, but with someone committed to working through that together, I'll give you all the loyalty a girl like me can offer. ✨ Come meet me and let's see if we're a perfect match!

Story
Meet Radish! He is crate trained and enjoys his safe haven! He’s also completely potty trained, has never went in the house. He can be shy with new people but is becoming more brave! He knows sit and lay down. Working on come, stay, and leave it. He is very sweet but takes some time to warm up, so whoever has interest in him will need to be patient with him. Radish came from a hoarding situation with many other dogs, so he is learning to trust, and that life doesn’t have to be so scary. He is starting to enjoy cuddles and likes to give kisses. Once he’s warmed up he loves to play with his toys and likes to throw them in the air. He really likes toys that he can swing back and forth and loves chew. He hasn’t been around cats or children but does well with other dogs. If you would like to meet Radish, fill out an application on our website unchainedmelodies.org/adopt/ *All UMDR dogs are up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, spayed/neutered and microchipped *No Out of State Adoptions *No Invisible fences

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Courtesy PostCourtesy Post.  See contact info at the end of bio. Mia is an 11-year-old, 35-pound purebred Border Collie looking for the right home to spend her golden years. Adopted eight years ago, Mia has been a loyal adventure partner and beloved companion ever since. She’s incredibly smart, affectionate, and still has plenty of Border Collie drive and enthusiasm for life. Mia thrives when she has a job to do. She loves training, playing ball or frisbee, going for walks and runs, and joining her people on adventures. Her previous family worked with her in obedience, agility, and scent work — all activities she truly enjoys and excels at. She has good house manners, rides wonderfully in the car, and has even earned glowing reviews during Airbnb stays. She’d happily be your shadow and go wherever you go. Some of Mia’s favorite things: • Hiking trails and outdoor adventures • Ball and frisbee time • Early mornings • Being close to her people • Having structure, purpose, and enrichment A few quirks: • Trash trucks are highly suspicious • Water is not her thing • She occasionally appoints herself the “fun police” when play gets too rowdy As Mia has gotten older, she has developed some anxiety and has become more sensitive to chaos and overstimulation. In her current home, she sometimes struggles with the energy of a younger dog and can display strong herding instincts during excited play. Because of this, Mia would do best in a calm, structured home without small loud children or high-energy dogs. She may bark, lunge, or nip when she feels things are out of control. She is passive around cats. Mia is house-trained, does well loose-leash walking, and can be trusted free in the home when left alone. She is up to date on vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and has no known health concerns. She currently takes fluoxetine and trazodone for anxiety support. Her previous family loves her deeply and is heartbroken to make this decision, but they know Mia deserves a home that can better meet her needs and help her feel secure and successful. In the right environment, she will be an incredibly devoted companion. Mia is located in the Wichita area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Copper is a 5 year old, high energy 48 pound purebred border collie who recently lost the loving home he had since puppyhood. This gorgeous blue merle boy came into rescue and hasn’t looked back. His sweet sister, Charlie, is in a separate Mo-Kan foster home. Copper loves people of all ages, especially children. He is not good with cats. Copper was used to being an outdoor dog and is learning that there are different rules indoors. He is very puppylike: perpetually happy, curious, and runs everywhere instead of walking. Copper responds best to gentle touch and calmly delivered commands. He is a blank slate, and eager to please! He is crate trained and runs in preemptively to get a treat, which he takes treats very gently. “Copper, come!” appears to be his favorite command. He thinks he is a lap dog and is learning to sit for affection instead of jumping up for it. Copper walks moderately well on a leash and is learning to stay to one side of his person. He enjoys outings to our local dog park for the people who pet him as much as the dogs he runs with. He is very skilled at reading and reacting appropriately to new dog friends and takes their feedback well. Copper would do best in a home with a consistent routine. Having been an outdoor dog after his first year of life, he is re-learning potty training. He is crated during the workday with a mid-day dogsitter break while his foster is at work and keeps his kennel clean. He loves being outside, running in a yard and wrestling with his 55 pound housemate, so a fenced yard and a dog companion are preferred. Copper is not good with cats and is hyper focused on chickens. A home without cats or caged small pets is a must. If he sounds like a great addition to your family, complete an adoption application on the Mo-Kan website. Copper is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 9:13 am

Chou Chou is a 5 year old tri-color Border Collie with a loving & playful personality. He’s extremely smart, focused, and high energy. Playtime is his absolute favorite part of the day. Is there anything better? Not according to Chou Chou!  Balls, discs, sticks, anything is game. He’s even proficient at carrying two toys at once! Someone with breed experience that can keep up with his energy would be ideal. When toys are out of the question, he is a big love bug. He enjoys giving hugs, receiving belly rubs, and serving as a foot warmer. He loves all people but is best suited for a home where he is the only dog. Chou Chou would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children. Chou Chou is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys car rides. He gets so excited to jump in for a ride! He’s a good eater and is learning to work for treats. He has exhibited resource guarding over his food once. Chou Chou enjoys walks but is working to improve his leash manners. Chou Chou is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is ready to find an active, breed-savvy home to call his own. Chou Chou is being fostered in the Waynesville, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Chou Chou.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2026, 11:12 am
