Story
Scooter is a farm dog and very Border Collie behavior. He does not fit our family due to having an autistic child in the home. He is very energetic and excitable but very friendly. He deserves a home with someone that can spend the time with him and include him in daily life. He is trainable, knows sit, shake, stay, and is treat motivated. He is goofy, silly, and very lovable. Once he's comfortable with his owner he is a good boy, it will take someone who can be the dominant person.

Story
Meet Sadie 🐾 Sadie is a beautiful 2-year-old Collie mix with a fun, active spirit and a sweet heart. Sadie really enjoys going for walks and getting outdoors and would love a family that camps or is looking for a walking and hiking buddy. She is fully housetrained and leash trained. Sadie knows basic commands and has had some formal training. Once it’s time to relax, you’ll find her happily chewing on her bones and squeaking her favorite toys. Sadie is a real cuddle bug and will happily snuggle on the couch with you! Sadie can be shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes a happy and loyal companion who enjoys being close. She seems to prefer adults and older children, since sudden movements and noises have been known to startle her. Sadie currently lives with multiple dogs in her foster home but would also be content being an only dog. Sadie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. Her foster home is located in St. Louis County. Her adoption fee is $325. You can apply for Sadie here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ITMD/Dog, and her foster family will be in touch with you!

Story
I'm a lucky dog and smart, too! I was chosen to go to college with the MSU Companion Animal students at MSU and I graduated! I spent 10 weeks learning great stuff with the students and now I'm ready for a real job - like loving you! I learn quickly, already know commands and I'm house trained. I'd love to have an active family and a job to do - just a sling care of you would be an honor. Don't you want to meet me? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2424236##

Story
Wesson is the kind of dog who looks right into your heart and seems to understand exactly what you’re saying. At just a year old, he’s the perfect blend of youthful energy and eagertoplease sweetness. With his striking tricolor coat and bright, intelligent eyes, he turns heads everywhere he goes. Wesson came to us from the Bolivar Pound, and despite his uncertain start, he has shown nothing but friendliness and curiosity. He loves people, enjoys exploring new places, and is always ready for a walk, a game, or a cuddle—whatever you’re offering. His herdingbreed mix gives him a smart, attentive personality, and he’s the kind of dog who will thrive with someone who enjoys teaching, bonding, and having a loyal companion by their side. He’s young, trainable, and full of potential. Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy, a yardplaying partner, or a best friend to share the couch with, Wesson is ready to be that dog. Story
If you’re looking for something sweet without the sugar crash, Oreo is your guy! Just like his namesake, he’s a classic favorite who is impossible to resist. Oreo is a "very sweet" dog who believes that life is better when it’s shared with a best friend. He’s the kind of dog who brings a smile to everyone’s face just by walking into the room.
