Meet Cassie ❤️ Cassie is an 8-year-old sweetheart looking for a loving forever home. Her 85-year-old owner recently moved into an assisted living facility and can no longer provide the care she deserves. While this is a heartbreaking decision, it is being made out of love and a desire to give Cassie the best life possible. Cassie is the sweetest dog you could ever meet. She loves everyone and everything, and would do well with a family or as a loyal companion for one person. She is healthy, up to date on all vaccinations and heartworm prevention, and has no medical issues. Her only challenge is that she is overweight and could benefit from a healthier diet, exercise, and lots of love. She may have simply been loved a little too much! If an adoption is not available right away, a foster home would be greatly appreciated. Cassie is deeply loved and will be missed, but she deserves a safe, happy place to spend the rest of her life. Linda is a gentle, one-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 37–40 pounds. This sweet girl has a soft, sensitive soul and a story of resilience that makes her all the more special. She was found in an isolated area in heartbreaking condition—malnourished, covered in fleas and ticks, and struggling with painful skin issues. A kind-hearted gentleman discovered her curled up in a ditch at the end of his gravel drive. He took her in, got her the medical care she desperately needed, and showed her love and kindness until she was ready to find a rescue. Thanks to him, Linda got a second chance at life. Because of her past, Linda is very shy and submissive. It took her about six months in foster care before she felt safe enough to accept gentle pets without cowering. She’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place—but she’s making progress every day. One thing Linda does love is other dogs! She lights up when she has a canine friend around and happily follows their lead. She’ll need a home with a playful, confident dog who can help guide her and show her the ropes. Linda is housebroken and thrives in a consistent, calm environment. She’s not yet comfortable walking on a leash and will flatten to the ground when one is put on, so she’ll need a secure, fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. Linda is looking for a patient, compassionate home that will give her the time and understanding she needs to fully come out of her shell. In return, you’ll get to watch a truly special dog continue her journey from surviving to thriving.
