Meet Zera, meaning new beginnings, Birthdate 10/18/2022 3 years old Husky/border Callie mix Trains well. She is eager to learn. potty trained, sit, stay on command. Working on her recall. All vaccines completed spaded High energy breed Zera needs an active lifestyle. Zera is a very friendly girl. She is motivated by praise. She loves to play and chase the ball. No Cats(She was very rough with our cat) Recommended older children. She gets excited, jumps and runs with the zoomies. Could be a little much for younger children. Has been socialized with other dogs. A medium size breed with a submissive playful personality would be a good fit for Zera. She loves her people. Story
I'm a college graduate! I spent 10 weeks at MSU training with the students there in the DARR School of Agriculture in their Companion Animal Program. I was already a sweet girl, but now I’m trained and really ready to be the best girl ever for a new family. Won’t you give me a chance? Hi, I'm Gabi! I'm a Border Collie/Heeler/German Shepherd mix! I'm very sweet and affectionate and I am looking for a home that can keep up with me.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis, MO. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas.  All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2488927##

Story
Meet Linda — Our Little Cinderella Story  At just 1½ years old, Linda has already lived through a fairy tale transformation. Found on the side of a gravel road—malnourished, covered in fleas, and with almost no fur—no one could even tell what kind of dog she was. But with love, care, and time, this beautiful Border Collie mix has truly blossomed. Linda is a gentle, tender-hearted soul. She enjoys soft pets and scratches, but she’s also content relaxing on her own. When the playful mood strikes, she’ll delight you with her adorable backyard zoomies alongside her foster dog friends. She can be a bit shy at first and needs time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she shines. Linda would thrive with another playful dog in the home—someone who can guide her, build her confidence, and help her continue her journey. Because she’s still learning leash skills, a securely fenced yard is essential for her safety and comfort. Linda is fully potty trained and completely trustworthy without a crate. She truly went from rags to riches, and now she’s ready for her happily-ever-after. Linda’s perfect home includes:  A friendly, playful companion dog  A secure fenced yard  A patient family ready to love her like the princess she is If you're ready to give this Cinderella her forever castle, Linda is waiting.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Linda’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. Meet Mr. Bean, a 10 week old male border collie/lab mix who is expected to weigh 45 to 50 pounds when grown. He is very handsome and quite distinguished in his black and white tuxedo colors. Bean loves to play alone or with other dogs and really enjoys tug. He is just a bit shy until he gets to know you, then he's ready to snuggle up! Bean has a gentle energy and gets along with everyone. He sleeps well at night, is paper trained and currently working on mastering potty training. Please consider that puppies this young cannot be successfully crated for more than 4 hours at a time without a break. Bean comes fully vaccinated, neutered, and up to date on preventatives. His adoption fee is $325. If you'd like to meet this little sweetheart, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ITMD/Dog.
