Story
. . .          who is ready for an active home for a lifetime of adventuring. She traveled from LA to MA and continues to learn how to dog. She LOVES kids, other dogs, and will be ok with a dog-savvy cat. She makes friends wherever she goes and is developing her very own fan club. She will LOVE a fenced yard and an active home as she is the PERFECT adventure partner or sidekick. She is a working dog lover's dream.  Rescue story––She came in a stray to a high volume kill shelter and she is one lucky pup! We tagged her after seeing her sweet disposition and spent some time in a Louisiana foster home readying to travel north. Her southern foster mom says––"June Bug is working on the basics like sit and down. She is an older puppy and because she is learning manners, is best with older kids and will likely LOVE a resident dog that likes to play too." JUNE BUG IS PART OF OUR NEW "SHELTER DOG SUCCESS PROGRAM"! Her adoption comes with training! 50% of the adoption fee is transferred to a  dedicated trainer who zooms with you 1st (to prep you for her pick-up), followed by two additional zooms, as needed, with text support in-between!  Each zoom is an hour long and at the end of your program, your trainer will make a recommendation on best next steps for your training plan. It's important to us that our adult dogs have this second chance and this new program sets them and your household up for success too!  Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival. Pups not adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours.  Read through our adoption process and other adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs All of our pups come with the following:  Spayed or Neutered Age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) Dosed with flea/tick + heartworm preventatives New martingale collar with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30 days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian Microchip with free registration Sample of food your pup has been eating  Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.   Approved Massachusetts Rescue #0048 // Registered 501c3 EIN #84-3954548  ##1849431##

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 22, 2024, 10:09 pm

Story
Our handsome border collie mix boy puppy is called Gordy and he is a truly rescued pup that deserves a really great home with another dog or better yet…his sister named Prancy.  This boy is 8-9 months old and weighs 23.5 pounds and is a one of a kind Heeler.  He is very sweet and easy going and not hyper at all.  As most Heelers are expected to be very active and over the top energy, Gordy is not like that at all. We don’t know a thing about his former life as a young puppy but some lady took him and his sister from a livestock auction after they were abandoned at the event.  He is so good with other dogs, cats, young children too!  He is living with 3 children that are all under the age of 13 years.  He has great manners and is learning leash skills, and house manners.  Smart and very sensitive is what we say is very much his nature.  He is ready for that brand new home and the chance to be one of the best dog companions in your lifetime.   If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  He is ready for a forever and ever fresh start to his life. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 22, 2024, 10:09 pm

Pare' was born on April 10, 2022. He is a fluffly attention hog, he'll look for a cuddle then he's off like a dart bouncing off walls. He is very active, loves his belly rubs and all the attention he can get. Pare' will do best in a home with another dog to help him acclimate. If you are interested in Pare', please include your phone number and we will call with more information on Pare' and our adoption process. May 20, 2024, 9:42 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ZAANA was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 ZAANA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18 November 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 30 pounds. The group believe that Zaana could be a Japanese Spitz mix, but we have no way of knowing for sure. ZAANA is the girl for you if you are looking for a gentle, sweet, super affectionate girl. She has settled in well after her long, scary trip from Oman and enjoys when I am in the kennels giving her lots of love and fuss. She will put her paw on my arm or shoulder so that I can scratch the spots she likes and I think it is also her way of wanting to connect. She is a beautiful girl who does have a medium length coat, so grooming is a consideration to be taken into account as if coats are not brushed, they can matt very easily which is not healthy and painful for the dogs. She is an active girl and will need a family that will take her on lots of adventures and give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. ZAANA can be dog selective and so she would be best in a home with no other dogs, so as to not cause any un-needed stress or concerns. Then over time she can get to meet other dogs and see who she likes to have as her friends so she can play and chase and have some doggy-fun. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Zaana is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $400. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
