Story
Greetings and tail wags, beautiful human critters!I am known to you humans as Chevy, although my friends sometimes call me Chevron or even Chevy Chase. (Humans are very silly) I came to Safe Haven when my mom couldn`t care for me anymore as she was moving overseas. I am an active, playful, intelligent border collie mix and was born around Halloween in 2016. New situations and people can make me pretty nervous, but I feel safe with everyone here at Safe Haven now! I especially love going on walks and hanging out with my doggy pen-mate. Everyone says that I am very handsome and that my bright blue eyes will steal a lot of hearts. Want me to steal yours?Best regards,ChevyNote from Safe Haven: Chevy was nervous and afraid of men when he arrived at our sanctuary, but he has since settled in and loves attention from our volunteers and staff. Because Chevy was a little fear-aggressive at first when he was surrendered to Safe Haven, he is looking for an especially calm and patient family to help him settle into his new life.

Story
Hi, my name is Dudley. I came to APA from another prison program when it was shut down earlier in 2025. I finished my PAWS training in November 2025, and now I am ready for a wonderful, loving home. I am shy at first because I have had some past trauma in my life, but I warm up pretty quickly and am a lovable guy.

Story
Bandit (born around April of 2021) is an Australian Cattle Dog who was reported as a stray for a few weeks in the community. After he was hit by a car, resulting in a broken and dislocated rear leg, he received specialized surgery to repair the injury and completed his months-long recovery at our sanctuary. Bandit is an affectionate, friendly, and social guy who loves everyone he has ever met. As a working/herding dog breed, Bandit will require a routine that includes adequate mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis. He is hoping for an active forever family who enjoys his affection and boisterous energy and will be patient as he learns the ropes of living in a home.
