Story
This is Griffin! ** approved application required for meet and greet** Intake Date: 11/13/24 Intake type: Surrender DOB: 11/18/2023 Gender: Neutered Male Handsome, intelligent, loyal, Griffin checks all those boxes! Griffin is a special pup who will require a special home. He is an extremely active guy and is always on the go, playing fetch, chasing his herding ball, or enjoying a swim. Griffin needs a family who is able to give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy! Griffin's ideal home is one preferably in the country with lots of private land for fun supervised adventures, and a secure fenced in yard where he could safely hang out outside as he pleases and come inside when he's ready. Griffin is extremely loyal to his people, but will require slow, supervised introductions so he can learn to trust anybody new. Once Griff knows he can trust you, he'll be your very best friend!! Griffin can be selective with other dogs, but has been able to make a couple of k-9 friends during his stay here at the shelter. Griff will require a home with with older kids 16+ who are able to understand body language and respect his boundaries. A meet and greet is required for all pups and humans in the home, and multiple meet and greets will likely be needed to see if Griffin will be a good match for you and your family! If you think your home may be a good match for our boy Griffin, please submit an application!

Story
We have a tale of 2 sisters and we want to share their story. Gracie and Katie came to us due to their owner no longer being able to care for them. Sadly, most shelters, rescues and humane societies have been running at full or over capacity, us included. What made placement difficult for these girls is that they are both special needs as they are both BLIND and unfortunately because they had no where to go euthanasia was an option their owner was faced with, due to a few rescue options falling through at the last minute. We were contacted by a local vet clinic who was desperately seeking placement for these sweet souls as they were running out of time. Luckily, we had 2 dogs that were adopted over the weekend which helped free up space to take these girls in. The girls have been with us a few weeks and they have their own private peaceful room to relax in together. We knew their transition to a shelter environment with new people would be difficult for them since they are unable to see. We have been taking baby steps & have worked with them slowly as they were very confused as to where they were and if they could talk we are sure they were wondering `who are all these new people, scents, sounds and voices`? We are happy to report Gracie & Katie have made great progress...they have now made the transition to feeling much more comfortable with us, enjoying their walks, exploring our play yard and loving all of the attention they receive from our staff. They love chin scratches, they get excited when they recognize our voices and they seek us out for affection. They have become more confident & playful and we now receive doggy kisses from them! It is absolutely wonderful to see how far they have come from being scared, shut down & unsure of their new surroundings. We are searching for a special home willing to adopt both Gracie & Katie together, as they are a definitely a bonded pair. Although they are unable to see what their future holds, They hear us tell them everyday how a loving home is coming, They enjoy smelling and tasting all the treats they receive. Most importantly they can feel the loving touch of someone who cares each and everyday. Still young and so full of personality at just 3 yrs old all these girls need is a home. If interested in offering these loving pups a second chance please submit an application for consideration to SPCAallegany@gmail,com - for more info call 585-593-2200 ext 2. Applicatio

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. HUDSON (male) came from a litter of 7. 5 girls; 2 boys. Mama is a white shepherd-type dog about 40#. Daddy was probably the local Casanova, maybe a Border Collie mix. These pups were born on the first night we had freezing weather and 2 courageous ladies went out in the cold and caught the stray mama and her 7 puppies and brought them to our rescue. DOB 1/17/26. They are all playful and very happy. They have great color and a tail that curls over her back. They currently are about 13-16# and will probably be about 30-40# when grown. They are all spayed/neutered, vaccinations including Rabies, Bordetella, 3-4 DAPP. These will be great family dogs. Like most puppies, they do bark … not good for an apartment. They are used to be in kennels as well as being in the puppy pen outside. This is a great deal!!! Get in on the ground floor and adopt now so that the family can bond and have fun for the summer! Look at our YouTube Videos: April Puppies #1 https://youtu.be/m5GpCnts49c April Puppies #2 https://youtu.be/Q1ane0ehd50 This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying.
