Story
My name is Lobo and I am 1 yr & 10 months old. I am social and affectionate with people I know at the shelter....but scared when I see new people walking through the shelter.....sometimes I run and hide under my bed. I do good with cats....and some dogs I like and others I am not sure of. I like butt scratches and I give hugs too! I was part of a cruelty case with 19 dogs....so many of us were very scared and under-socialized....but I do pretty good despite where I came from.

Story
All dressed up and nowhere to go.Star was born around February 14, 2017 and weighs about 45 pounds.  We receive a desperate email from her owner. The following is part of the email 'I live in a low-income apt and cannot have her. She is good with other dogs and kids as far as I am aware. I am currently sitting outside Olean SPCA who said they have no room for her. Every place I have contacted said they have no room for her.  I don't know what to do because I have no where for her to go.'  Space is tight here at JR but we had to help.  We are told Star is good with children of all ages and she ADORES cats!  She has been fine with the other dogs here too.  Star rides well in the car and will stick with you off-leash while you tend to the garden.   She has moderate hair loss on her back, from a flea infestation that is now gone and the fur will grow back and she will be beautiful again.  She does, very much, resemble a Heeler, but she doesn't act line one at all - she is truly delightful.  She does love to play with toys.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
I'm a really good boy! Kodak (formerly Reno Lights) was born around December 7, 2017 and needs a new home due to herding and nipping visiting children in his current home. He's been through intensive training over the last six months and has made so much progress! He's now fully crate trained, knows place command when people come over, heels on walks, and has good recall. He's a very good boy. He has the sweetest temperament and is a total "velcro" dog. He bonds closely with his owners and loves cuddles. He's not overly energetic like some heelers - a nice walk and a game of fetch and he's good for the day. He's in perfect health and is fully up-to-date on everything. He would love an adult-only home where kids don't visit often where he can get lots of snuggles and walks and fetch. Please reach out if you'd like to meet this handsome boy!     Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
