Meet Marco 🐠Marco here is believed to be a Border Collie / Jack Russell Terrier mix, but really, it’s hard to tell just what all breeds make up this unique looking fella. This lad is about 3 years old, but he seems to have an old man spirit. He will run around and play, but he does so in short bursts and doesn’t seem as energetic as you’d expect. He’s more of a low-key guy that doesn’t demand much from you, he just likes being your little background character that enjoys to watch and see what all is going on. We don’t know too much about this fella as he’s still pretty new here. We aren’t too sure how he does around other animals at this time. He seems mostly indifferent towards other dogs. In terms of people? He loves to spend time with you and get affection, on his own time. He mostly tends to keep to himself and is a very independent little fella. He takes a little time to warm up to new people and situations, but it doesn’t take him too long. With a little love and patience (and probably some food as bribery) Marco would make a perfect family companion. 🐾

Currently has fleas due to strays outside and with his fur is very hard to get off. Not up to date on rabies shots. Slightly matted fur in the back and will need some groomings. Overall no health issues known besides the flea infestation. Needs to warm up to new people but specifically men because he was mistreated by one and witnessed the man get very violent with his previous owner. Good around kids. Terrified of fireworks and thunderstorms partly due to the traumatic experience with the previous owner being on the fourth of july. Not crate trained.

Whether it’s going for a walk, learning something new, or just exploring the world around him, he’s happiest when his brain and body are both getting a workout.He’s a perfect medium-sized companion and walks nicely on leash, making him a great fit for someone who enjoys getting out and about. Resi has shown interest in the other dogs here at the shelter and may enjoy a canine friend, given proper introductions. We don’t have any history of him with cats at this time.Resi is the kind of dog who will really shine in a home that can match his energy and continue helping him grow into the best version of himself.
