Meet TWINKIE! She is a 4 ish year old Border Collie who weighs 35 pounds. She is friendly and does well with other dogs. Twinkie, like all Border Collies, is a bundle of energy and will need an active family who will exercise both mind and body daily. She is crate trained, knows some commands and walks well on a leash. Unfortunately, Twinkie was mistreated in her previous home and had to be removed by the Sheriff. She hasn't lost her spirit and is very resilient. She is looking forward to getting a stable family and getting treated well. Adoption fee is $400 All Ashland County Humane Society animals' adoption fees include: ~spay/neuter ~micro-chip ~de-worming ~vaccinations, including rabies ~heartworm prevention If you are interested in adopting this dog, please visit: www.ashlandhumane.org/adoption-application (copy and paste link to address bar) for a printable application. Complete and email back to applications@AshlandHumane.org We are an all volunteer-based organization that does not have a building or a staff, only 8 members with jobs and families, trying to make a difference. This hilarious short stature, young man is Cub. He dearly loves to play with other dogs and children as well. He is crate trained in house broke. He’s only nine months old. He was picked up as a stray and pulled from a Kill facility. Cub has been neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm, tested, negative, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention for three months, and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $400. Veterinarian reference required.

Story
I got Benji when I was in a relationship but now since I’m alone and I work full time he does not get the attention he needs. He’s very active and can start to act out when he doesn’t receive enough attention, mostly chewing things up. He does go to doggy daycare so I know he works well with other dogs. He is 4 years old, fixed, and up to date on all his shots. He’s potty trained and never has any accidents. He’s a very sweet dog and loves to give kisses. I just feel like he deserves a more present home environment.

Rufus is a lovable pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Rescued as a puppy, we believe he’s a Shepherd/Border Collie mix, full of energy and loyalty. He’s very affectionate and loves being close to his people, whether cuddling or following you around.Rufus would do best as the only dog, as he thrives on one-on-one attention. He is good with cats and has been raised around babies, toddlers, and children. He’s energetic and will need regular exercise, along with a fenced yard or secure outdoor space.He is partially potty trained and does best with frequent outdoor breaks, especially if left alone for long periods. Rufus is sensitive and sometimes anxious, and would thrive in a patient, loving home that can give him the time and attention he deserves.

Story
Luna was abused and thrown on the street, we have attempted to find her multiple homes and in the end she always returned to us. We can no longer keep her with us, she is really not living her best life with us and deserves much better than we can give her. She would do best as the only dog in the house with no other pets or young wild kids. She may bite as she has trust issues which is understandable given the life she has had so far but with love and understanding, she is a great dog. She does have a fear of storms and fireworks where she won't go outside to use the bathroom and she usually waits it out without accidents in the house as long as she is in a crate. She needs to be inside a crate to feel safe also during those times she is scared.
