Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Trey is a one-year-old, 39-pound Border Collie mix with the gentlest heart and a spirit that truly inspires. This handsome boy does well with other dogs and is both potty trained and crate trained. He already knows “sit” and “stay,” and with how food-motivated he is, he’ll happily learn even more! Trey enjoys a calm, cozy lifestyle. He sleeps quite a bit right now — which may simply be part of healing and adjusting after everything he’s been through — but when he’s awake, he’s content just being near his people. Trey came to us in very rough shape and required a double amputation of a leg and his tail. Despite everything, he remains in wonderful spirits. He doesn’t let his differences define him — he’s resilient, loving, and ready for a family who will cherish him just as he is. He absolutely loves to be petted, gives the sweetest kisses, and is happiest simply sharing a room with you. He prefers one-on-one time over toys and seems most comfortable engaging directly with his person. While toys don’t interest him much, he does enjoy a good bone. He can be a little unsure around men at first, but with patience and kindness, he warms up and builds trust beautifully. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will stay close by your side and fill your home with quiet love, Trey may be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training, & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 1 year Adoption Fee: $450

Story
Bandit is searching for his forever home 💚🐾This handsome boy is 1 year old and has the sweetest, happiest personality. Bandit is a fun-loving, playful pup who enjoys attention, making new friends, and being part of whatever is going on around him. He has great energy for adventures, walks, and playtime, but he also loves soaking up affection and spending time with his people.Bandit is up to date on all core vaccines and is on monthly preventatives, so he is ready to go home with his new family. Bandit has tested Lyme positive. Many dogs live normal, happy lives with Lyme, and it is manageable with veterinary care. We are happy to discuss this with potential adopters. He is at a wonderful age — still young, active, and eager to learn, but past the tiny puppy stage. Bandit would do great in a home that can give him love, guidance, and plenty of time to be part of the family. He is ready to give lots of love and loyalty to his future forever home.If you think Bandit could be the perfect addition to your family, please message us to learn more or to set up a meet and greet. Let’s help this sweet boy find the loving home he deserves ❤️Give us a call at (740) 314-5583 for more information!ADOPTION APPLICATION:All adoption applications are completed at the shelter unless otherwise noted.FOSTER APPLICATION:Want to be a hero for a homeless animal in need? Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Colt is a striking red Border Collie with brains, bounce, and a whole lot of heart. True to his breed, this boy is extremely intelligent, agile, and always ready for his next job. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to do life with you — Colt is your guy. Colt is around 2 years old and currently weighs 41 pounds. He is potty trained and crate trained (though he may voice a small opinion about the crate at first). He settles quickly and is very responsive to gentle correction. Colt will be neutered soon, which should help curb some of his outdoor marking habits. He did attempt to mark indoors once, received one correction, and hasn’t tried again — smart boy! Colt does beautifully with other dogs. He reads them well, plays appropriately, and genuinely enjoys canine companionship. In fact, he recently discovered the joy of toys after another dog showed him how fun they can be! He’ll engage with toys, but truthfully, he prefers being close to his human above all else. Colt has not yet been introduced to cats or children. As expected from a Border Collie, Colt is high energy and thrives when he has a purpose. He is still learning leash manners and working on impulse control (he can get excited and jump up), but he is incredibly attentive and eager to learn. He already knows “sit” and “down,” has excellent distance recall, and picks up on training quickly. With structure and consistency, he will absolutely shine. He has a big-dog bark when someone approaches the door — he takes his “alert system” job seriously! — but the moment they walk in, he turns into all wiggles and friendliness. We’re also working on not bolting out doors in his excitement to greet people. This handsome, high-drive boy will thrive in an active home that understands the Border Collie mindset — one that offers exercise, mental stimulation, and partnership. He is deeply loyal, highly trainable, and ready to bond with someone who appreciates a smart, spirited companion. If you’re looking for a brilliant adventure buddy who wants to be your right-hand man, Colt is waiting. Story
This sweet pup is named Skye and he is looking for an immediate permanent home or a within 50 miles of Minerva, Ohio Foster home. He doesn't need referrals to other rescues, etc. he just needs a real home. Reason for Relinquish: Personal family issues. No fault of Skye's who is just turning 8 months old. Lanky and Skinny and his ears have yet to decide their direction and he still has his puppy coat. ABCA registered Red Merle from litter of 7, rough coat. Absolutely an interesting coloration that gets lots of complements and attention. Very people friendly. Indoors only and has lots of energy which will require both training and a good job. Not good on a leash he pulls. Loves to jump up on everyone. Not a counter surfer, not aggressive. doesn't get into the garbage not destructive in the house. No nips or bites reported. Likes cats good with other dogs. No guarding issues noted. You can take his food bowl and pet while feeding. He will release and give you the toy. Likes both genders in humans and dogs. He is housebroke and crate trained. But he is still a puppy and needs training and more socializing always. He has gone through 2 puppy classes but as they all do needs more obedience work and either sports or a worthy job. It's time for Skye to get into the hands that will help him grow into his best paws. He's got some smarts and looks and he's all Border Collie so that is a good start. If you can provide Skye with either a responsible permanent home or a Foster Home for the time being then please email me at: IndianSummersRezQ@gmail.com Indian Summers Border Collie Rescue is a Breed specific dog rescue located in Minerva, Ohio we work only with Purebred herding dogs, most notably the Border Collie, or high appropriate mixes of.
