Story
Bandit is a 10 mth old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog. He weighs 34 lbs. Bandit was pulled from our local animal shelter. Bandit is a very good boy. He is so willing to please and ready to learn anything you would like to teach him. He has a moderate energy level and a wonderful temperament. He will require an owner who will spend time with him. He is a smart boy who thrives on learning new things. He would be a great hiking partner or just best bud. He would love to show you how smart he is. He can't wait to find his forever best friend. We are unsure if he is house trained. He has been great with other dogs and children. He is up to date on shots and wormed. He is already neutered. The adoption fee is $250. Story
Gus was born in February of 2019 so he is 6 years old. He is a sweet loving boy. At his previous home he was outside off leash and was good. We have always had him on leash though. He isn’t on his best behavior around cats but is great with other dogs. Gus is amazing on walks and loves getting pet. Who ever takes him in will be blessed to have a sweet, calm, loving boy.

Story
My baby's name is Pedge he's 2 born on may 20th. We came across Pedges picture on facebook a little over two years ago where he was being given away for free and had no information listed about him. In the 2 years we've been lucky enough to have him be apart of our family we have learned a few things. One of those things being he is a reactive dog (i.e doesn't do well with strangers, loud noises, or other animals). He has had a little to no exposure to any other animals beside my five-year-old cat Mina (as seen in the picture) they have a tolerable relationship, though Pedge does try to play with him. He has shown signs to be aggressive towards unknown people, and sometimes unknown animals, though he has never hurt anybody (human or not) we keep him separate from anyone he’s not comfortable around. Despite that Pedge is a very loving and cuddly dog. Unfortunately we are being forced to relocate him do to moving please consider adopting this amazing dog.

Story
Orlo will be 2 years old in April 2, 2026. I got him as a rescue when he was 2 months old. He is extremely friendly, energetic, and smart. He has a jumping problem because he wants to give everyone hugs and kisses. He does great on a leash aside from some pulling at first and will sit and heel on command. He knows a lot of other tricks as well. Hes excellent with potty training and has not had an accident in the house in over a year. Hes never been remotely aggressive with other dogs, but he can be annoying as he often doesnt get when they have had enough play. He can play for hours by himself, especially outside. His biggest problem area is that he is kennel aggressive. When stressed, he will kennel himself and bark/lunge/and growl at anyone nearby. He’ll eventually snap out of it and be fine in the kennel. He has never actually bitten anyone in this state and it seems to be anxiety based. My ideal adopter would be someone with land where he can roam for most of the day.

Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxQD-9Bt1kw John Connor has been with the rescue since last summer since he and his mom were dumped in the country. He is about 18 months old now and I don't understand why he hasn't been adopted. He is adorable, he only weighs about 40 lbs, he is great with other dogs, people, and cats. Perfect little dude. He loves to run and play and splish splash in the water. He would make a great companion for an active individual or a family that enjoys outdoor adventures or spending lots of time in the backyard. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) -- Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Meet Pepper!Pepper is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd who recently came to FDHS with her best friend Ginger (also available) after their previous owner could no longer care for them. Pepper is having a tough time settling into the busy shelter environment and is hoping to find a peaceful place to land soon. She does best in calm, predictable spaces and would be happiest in a home without young children or lots of noise. Pepper prefers quieter, low-key dogs, has not lived with cats, and can be uneasy around men. With time and patience, she has already started to warm up to our male kennel attendants.Pepper is an incredibly smart girl and was used to regular grooming in her last home. With a steady routine, reassurance, and a little space to decompress, she’ll show you just how wonderful she is.She would love nothing more than a cozy home and someone to love her!**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs 50 lbs**
