Story
Chewy Lewis (named like Huey Lewis, as he is the power of love) is a 20lb, 4.5 month old border collie mix pup. This sweet boy came to us from our local shelter as they are a bit overcrowded and puppies are tough to care for in the shelter environment. At this time, he is a bit underweight, so he will be working on gaining some much needed muscle and strength while in his foster home. Additionally, Chewy's foster will be working on housebreaking, crate training and basic puppy obedience. He is young, so he seems to do well with just about everyone, though we highly encourage children to be dog educated for best success. Being that his breed notoriously loves to play, an active home with a fenced in yard would be ideal! He does well with other dogs and likes to be with his people. He is a very sweet pup & we are excited for his next steps!Chewy's adoption fee is $450.00 which will include his neuter at our vets, vaccines (including DHLPPC, Kennel Cough, Lyme disease, Rabies), heartworm/lyme testing (negative), and Microchipping with lifetime registration. If you want to meet Chewy with hopes to make him part of your family, be sure to FIRST apply on our website for approval: https://www.theroadhomeanimalproject.org/companion-adoption-form-pdf.html***100% of adoption fees go back to the animals and help provide for medical care for our rescues that need specialized medical care and surgeries.*Note: Ideally, ALL members of the family (canine and human alike) should be present for any meet and greet unless otherwise specified/discussed.Please remember that we are a board of entirely volunteers that have full time jobs as well as our rescue passion. Story
Bentley is a 3 year old very active border collie who has had a great life with our family but needs room to run and an experienced owner. He has never been around cats and doesn't get along will with our Bernese Mountain dog because she doesn't want to get herded. He would do best with a family as an only pet with older children. Bentley is very active, trainable and inquisitive. He loves to be outside and will run with a harness. We would love for him to go to a farm where he can run and do what he was born to do and that's run all day and herd all the animals he can find.

Story
Cormac is an energetic, loving, and highly intelligent companion. He was born April 29, 2023, and came to our home at 9 weeks old. Although it saddens us, we feel our home is not the best environment for Cormac to thrive in and feel he would do best in a home where he is the only dog. We have two older dogs who tolerated him at first, and as he’s matured, tensions are rising and we are worried someone will get hurt. Cormac loves to play with his ball outside. He is crate trained and knows several tricks. He is a wonderful, eager companion for the right person who has the time and energy to train him. Cormac is very submissive when meeting new dogs but can become possessive over toys and food. He is nervous around new people and has not been around small children or cats. Cormac’s ideal family is someone with flexible working hours and the ability to exercise him every day. He is probably not a suitable companion for elderly persons (he jumps) or families with small children.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi!  I’m Tipsy, and I’d love to be your new pet!  I was brought to Rose’s Rescue from the dog pound.  I am 35 pounds and apx 8 months old. My foster mom named me Tipsy, because of the white tips on my tail and toes. I have a lot of energy and love to run, jump and play. My favorite things to do are play fetch, wrestle with my foster doggie brother and chew on squeaky toys.  I am getting very good with crate training and I have learned to “sit”!  Potty training is going well, but since I still have a puppy bladder I sometimes don’t “hold it” until I get outside. But I really want to please everybody and make people happy so I’m trying really hard and should be fully trained soon!  There are cats at my foster home and I like to chase them because it is so much fun!  I am friendly to them if they let me catch up. I need a fenced yard to expend my energy. I would be a great playmate to your dog, if your dog has energy for entertainment, I am the one. Well that’s a little bit about me. I’d love to meet you and get to know you too!      If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application For anyone viewing this on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal you will need to go to our website www.rosesrescue.net to fill out the online adoption application. Story
Archie was adopted from us as a puppy in April of this year. He was recently returned due to not getting along with the other pets in the home. He needs to be the ONLY animal in the house. Nervous at first and a little “leary” of stranger (women only) but has been good here if you get down to his level first, and then he’s very sweet. Now, that has been with women only, he is NOT a fan of men and will growl and bark. He was previously owned by a man and was fine with him, but not any new men. So, he may be okay with a man in the family. HE NEEDS A JOB. He needs an outlet for exercise and a fenced in backyard would be ideal. He would benefit from daily enrichment activities and would do really well in an agility class if someone is interested in enrolling him. He would thrive with someone with an active lifestyle. He went to a 2-week board and train and knows basic commands such as sit, down, place, break, and heel. We spoke with the trainer, and he comes with “lifetime refresher classes” So any new adopter can go to this trainer, and they will work with them and Archie, NO CHARGE! Archie has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the $155 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)
