Story
Every Western’s got its mysterious gunslinger—the quiet one sittin’ in the corner of the saloon, hat tipped low, eyes watchin’ everyone like he’s got ‘em all figured out. That’s Johnny Ringo… if the gunslinger in question was five pounds of fluff with a tail that wags at Mach speed. He’s a thinker, an observer, the kind of pup who likes to take it all in before he moseys over to lay his head right on your lap like it’s his birthright. Ringo’s not out here causin’ chaos or stirrin’ up dust—he’s the calm after the stampede, the cozy campfire glow in the middle of your busy day. He’s the kind of cowboy who’d rather trade his spurs for a blanket, his lasso for a leash, and his wild adventures for long naps with his favorite human. Sure, he could be out there wranglin’ trouble, but honestly? That sounds exhausting. He’d rather just melt into you and ponder life’s deeper mysteries—like why humans need “personal space.” So if you’re lookin’ for a snuggle outlaw with a soft heart and a talent for silent judgment, Johnny Ringo’s your guy. He’s got the charm, the chill, and the kind of loyalty that’ll have you wonderin’ how you ever rode the range without him. 🌵💛 Johnny Ringo is a 6-week-old, 5-pound Border Collie mix (with a possible side of Lab for extra sweetness) who’s already meltin’ hearts faster than a snow cone in the desert sun. Born right here in rescue after his mama, Belle Starr, rode in heavy with secrets and a belly full of pups from the urgent list at the shelter, Johnny’s never known the rough side of the trail. Nope—this fella’s been raised on love, soft blankets, and the occasional dramatic sigh when his nap gets interrupted. If you’re lookin’ for a gentle little cowboy with a soft soul and a big future, saddle up and get that adoption app ready. Johnny Ringo’s fixin’ to trade the rescue ranch for his forever homestead, and trust us—once you meet him, you won’t be ridin’ away without him. Johnny Ringo’s the kind of fella who gets along with just about everyone on the frontier. Loves dogs—no surprise there, considering he was probably elected sheriff of the puppy posse before breakfast. Kids? Oh, he’s all in. He’ll happily play sidekick to their wild adventures, especially if snacks or nap breaks are involved. Now, as for cats—he hasn’t met one yet, but if we had to guess, he’d probably give ‘em a slow squint from across the room, decide they’re weird but harmless, and go back to minding his own business. Bottom line? Johnny Ringo’s not out here lookin’ for a fight. He’s too busy being unbothered, effortlessly cool, and generally the chillest gunslinger this side of the Mississippi. Johnny Ringo may be named after a gunslinger, but don’t let that fool you—this little fella’s got the energy level of a tumbleweed on a windless day. A solid 3 outta 10, tops. While the rest of the puppies are stampedin’ around like caffeinated coyotes, Ringo’s the one already clocked out, loungin’ in your lap like he’s been workin’ cattle since dawn. His favorite pastime? Cuddlin’—and he takes his job very seriously. Meal time ends, and before you can even wipe the slobber off your jeans, he’s already claimed his rightful spot: right there in your lap, gazin’ up at you like, “Yeah, you’re done, right? Lap time now.” He’s an observer too—the kind of puppy who studies you with those soulful eyes, probably wonderin’ why you talk so much, yet he actually listens when you speak, which makes him smarter than most humans, and he comes when called like he’s been trained by the sheriff himself. Now don’t go thinkin’ that just because Johnny Ringo is all sweet eyes and soft snores, you’re gettin’ some ready-made gentleman of the West. Oh no, partner—this little cowboy still has a few trails to ride before he’s a fully housebroken member of society. His new family better be ready for the full Puppy Frontier Experience. Potty training? Yep, that’s on the itinerary. Socialization’s another big adventure. Johnny Ringo’s gotta meet the locals—other pups, friendly humans, maybe a suspicious cat or two—and learn that not every tumbleweed or vacuum cleaner is a sworn enemy. A few positive introductions, some treats, and a good sense of humor will get him trail-ready in no time. So saddle up, partner. The trail ahead’s got its bumps, but at the end of it waits one heck of a loyal little cowboy who’ll make every muddy pawprint and midnight potty break worth it. ❤️🐾 Now don’t go polishin’ your spurs just yet—our little heart thief won’t be ready to mosey on home ‘til around the first weekend in November. He’s still learnin’ his puppy manners, growin’ into those big dreams, and practicin’ his “aw shucks” expression for when he inevitably gets caught chewing something important. So if you’re ready to ride off into the sunset with the most charming outlaw west of the Mississippi, fill out that adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app faster than a tumbleweed in a dust storm, and we’ll send it along to his foster family. You’ll need to come fetch your new cuddle deputy right here in Oklahoma City, OK—no home delivery, no teleportation, just an old-fashioned road trip to meet your destiny. Grab your hat, gas up your wagon, and prepare your heart—Johnny Ringo’s waitin’ for his forever family, and trust us, this is one love story the whole frontier’s gonna be talkin’ about. 🤠💛

Story
Every Western town’s got that one larger-than-life figure who thinks he runs the place—and in this case, that’s Wyatt Earp. At just a few weeks old, this little lawman already knows he’s the biggest pup in the litter and, therefore, the one callin’ all the shots. Don’t bother tellin’ him otherwise—he’s too busy admirin’ himself in the mirror, probably wonderin’ why the other pups don’t look quite as majestic as he does. Wyatt’s an explorer through and through. He’s got enough swagger for three dogs, but don’t let the bravado fool ya—underneath all that confidence, Wyatt’s got a soft spot a mile wide. Wyatt Earp’s the perfect mix of bold and sweet, a fearless adventurer with a cuddle addiction. He’s the kind of pup who’ll keep your days lively, your nights cozy, and your ego in check. So, if you’re lookin’ for a puppy with a big personality, a bigger heart, and the self-confidence of a Hollywood cowboy, Wyatt Earp is your man....err pup. Wyatt Earp is a 6-week-old, 8-pound Border Collie mix (with a touch of Lab and a whole lot of swagger) who’s already declared himself sheriff, mayor, and local heartbreaker of the puppy pen. Born right here in rescue after his mama, Belle Starr, rode in from the urgent list heavy with pups and light on luck, Wyatt came into this world with confidence baked right into his bones. He’s the biggest of his litter, and boy, does he know it. You can see it in the way he struts—head high, tail waggin’, eyes gleamin’ like he’s about to challenge the horizon to a duel. And then there’s his favorite pastime—staring at himself in the mirror. Wyatt’s discovered his reflection, and we’re pretty sure he’s convinced there’s another handsome gunslinger out there lookin’ back at him. He’ll puff up, tilt his head, and give a little wag like, “Howdy, handsome—fancy seein’ you here.” Vanity? Maybe. Confidence? Absolutely. But beneath all that bravado beats the soft heart of a cuddlebug. When the day’s adventures are done and the dust has settled, Wyatt’s perfectly happy to hang up his imaginary spurs and melt right into your side. He’s loyal, affectionate, and happiest when he’s pressed against his person, snorin’ like a satisfied cowboy after a long ride. If you’re lookin’ for a puppy with a personality bigger than the Texas sky, he is for you. Wyatt Earp is the kind of fella who thinks everyone he meets is part of his posse—dogs, kids, tumbleweeds, you name it. He loves dogs, mostly because they make excellent playmates and cuddle buddies. Kids? Oh, he’s all about ‘em. Wyatt considers tiny humans his biggest fans and has no problem hamming it up for an audience. He’ll happily tag along on any adventure—backyard treasure hunts, snack raids, or wild runs through the living room—and he’ll wag that tail like he’s leadin’ a parade the whole time. Now, as for cats—Wyatt hasn’t officially met one yet, but if his track record’s any indication, he’d probably just walk right up, introduce himself, and assume they’re destined to be best friends. He’s the type who’d get bopped on the nose once, shake it off, and say, “Alright, we’ll try again tomorrow.” Give him a week and he’d have the cat convinced to share the sunbeam—or at least tolerate his presence in it. In short, Wyatt’s got that friendly outlaw charm that makes him impossible not to love. He’s the kind of puppy who thinks the world’s his saloon, everyone’s his buddy, and life’s too short not to play with everything that moves (and maybe a few things that don’t). Wyatt Earp might act like the big man on the prairie, but underneath all that swagger is one of the sweetest, most lovable cowpokes this side of the rescue ranch. Sitting at a 5 out of 10 on the energy scale, he’s the perfect blend of playfulness and easygoing charm—enough spirit to keep things lively, but not so much that you’ll need to install a puppy rodeo ring in your living room. He’s playful in that irresistibly goofy way only puppies can be—bounding across the yard, ears floppin’, tail waggin’, absolutely convinced he’s the star of every show. And honestly? He’s not wrong. Wyatt has a natural presence, a bit of cowboy confidence that says, “Yep, I run this here operation.” He knows he’s the biggest pup in the bunch, and he carries himself like a true leader—but the kind who settles disputes with a wag and a nudge rather than a bark. Curious about everything but smart enough to take his time, Wyatt’s the type to watch first and act later. He studies his surroundings like a tiny frontier scout, observin’ every sound and smell before he joins in on the action. He’ll let another pup test out the mud puddle first, thank you very much—but once it’s deemed safe, he’s all in, splashin’ and rollin’ with pure joy. Wyatt Earp may grow up to be a big, strong cowboy someday, but right now he’s just a baby with a curious mind, a brave heart, and a whole lotta love to give. And if you’re lucky enough to call him yours, well… partner, you’re in for one heart-stealin’, tail-waggin’ adventure. ❤️🐾 Now, before you go dreamin’ of ridin’ off into the sunset with Wyatt Earp, picturin’ him curled up at your feet like the perfect gentleman, let’s set the record straight, partner—this little cowboy’s still got some learnin’ to do. Sure, he’s handsome, charming, and has all the makings of a frontier legend, but he’s also six weeks old… which means his new family’s signin’ up for the full Wild West experience of puppyhood. First off, there’s potty training, the great frontier every pup and human must cross. Then there’s socialization, which basically means teachin’ Wyatt that the big ol’ world isn’t somethin’ to be barked at or chewed on. He’ll need to meet new folks, other dogs, maybe even a cat or two, so he grows into the confident, well-mannered cowboy he’s meant to be. A few friendly introductions and some well-placed treats, and he’ll be shakin’ paws and stealin’ hearts all over town. So dust off your boots, grab your sense of humor, and get ready to saddle up for the greatest adventure this side of the prairie—’cause life with Wyatt Earp might get messy at times, but it’ll sure as shootin’ be worth every second. ❤️🐾 Now don’t go hitchin’ up your wagon just yet—this little gunslinger won’t be ready to head home ‘til around the first weekend in November. He’s still busy learnin’ how to be the best boy in the West and perfectin’ his dramatic mirror poses. But that gives you time, partner—time to stock up on treats, puppy-proof the homestead, and mentally prepare for the cutest, funniest, most lovable bandit you’ll ever meet. So if you’re ready to bring home your very own frontier legend, grab that adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and we’ll send it along to his foster family. You’ll need to mosey on down to Oklahoma City, OK to pick him up—no home delivery, no lasso mail, and no sneakin’ him through the Pony Express. Once you meet Wyatt Earp, though, you won’t be ridin’ home alone—you’ll be headin’ off into the sunset with your new best friend, a pocketful of puppy kisses, and one very smug little outlaw who’s already claimed your heart. ❤️🐾

Story
Meet Belle Starr, the legendary mama of our Most Wanted Litter. Belle isn’t just sweet. She radiates sweetness the way a candle gives off light — quietly, steadily, and in a way that makes every single person who meets her instinctively soften their voice and say, “Oh honey… look at her.” When Belle leans into you — with her soft head, warm weight, and eyes that look like she keeps entire galaxies of kindness behind them — you don’t just feel loved. You feel chosen. Belle Starr’s story didn’t start with softness — it started with fear, uncertainty, and a countdown she never should’ve been on. At just 2 years old, this 35-pound Border Collie beauty found herself sitting on death row in a crowded shelter… heavily pregnant, out of time, and out of options. Even then — even in that heartbreaking place — she had those same gentle eyes, that same quiet sweetness, that same “I won’t make a fuss, I’ll just be here if you need me” tenderness. And honestly… who on earth could say no to a face like hers? We certainly couldn’t. And neither could one incredibly compassionate foster family who opened their home, hearts, couches, blankets, and probably their entire laundry room to make sure she never spent another night scared and alone. And then, in true heroic outlaw-mama fashion, she delivered not one, not two, but a full dozen babies — the now-infamous Most Wanted Litter. Now that her puppies are weaned, this was supposed to be the part of her story where she gets to stretch out on a couch, receive endless kisses, and finally be the one getting tucked in instead of doing all the tucking. But people failed her. Again. Not only was she nearly euthanized while heavily pregnant… her former owners didn’t even keep her on the most basic protection: heartworm prevention. So despite all her sweetness, all her gentleness, all her quiet resilience, Belle came out of the shelter heartworm positive and now has to undergo months of treatment. She deserved better than that. She deserved better than all of that. And while her treatment will keep her from going home for the holidays — no cozy Christmas morning couch snuggles yet, no New Year’s kisses on the forehead while she sighs into your chest — she will be ready shortly after. And honestly? There’s something kind of poetic about starting a brand-new year with a brand-new love who has fought so hard for her chance at a soft life. So if you’ve got holiday travel, family chaos, or plans that would make bringing home a dog tough right now… but your heart keeps tugging toward this gentle girl? This might be your sign that she was meant to be yours after all. Belle Starr absolutely adores companionship — she just believes introductions should be done with a little grace, a little patience, and none of that “Hi I just met you let me climb directly onto your head” energy some dogs prefer. Once she has had a chance to settle in, she relaxes, she smiles (yes, Belle smiles), and then she blossoms. Her foster’s husky mix, Rollo, has officially been knighted as her favorite playmate — their friendship is pure gold. They romp, they chase, they tumble, they share little moments of joy that feel like watching childhood best friends reenact a movie montage. With the female German Shepherd, she took her time — two queens meeting requires proper ceremony, of course — but once that initial uncertainty faded, the peace treaty was signed and good vibes prevailed. And that older, slower dog in the house? Belle instantly adored him, like she recognized a gentle soul moving at her preferred tempo. She hasn’t been fostered with cats, but her spirit is so soft and thoughtful that she’d likely regard a feline roommate with gentle curiosity and quiet respect. She’s not the type to stir the pot; she’d either befriend the cat or offer them the world’s sweetest passive coexistence. Tiny toddlers, however… Belle has made it known, with the utmost diplomacy, that they are simply too much. Too loud, too wiggly, too unpredictable for her tender heart. She’s not upset by them — she just prefers to observe from a safe distance. Older kids with softer energy? That’s a different story. She could absolutely be someone’s gentle companion, quietly leaning into them during story time or curling up at their feet while they unwind from school. With new people, she does what all old souls do: she studies, she listens, and she waits for their kindness to reveal itself. She wants to feel safe — she deserves that — and once she senses warmth and gentleness, her whole heart opens. Belle's energy level is a solid three, which in Belle language means: “I will play, I will have fun, I will occasionally zoomie… and then I would like to return to my regularly scheduled nap, thank you.” Her ideal lifestyle right now is firmly Team Homebody. Belle is still decompressing from motherhood, survival mode, and the absolute ordeal of her past life, so she’s very much in her “soft couch, soft yard, soft toy, soft life only” era. She likes her backyard, she likes the couch, she likes her toys, she likes peacefully existing. Coffee shops and bustling outings? Hard pass. She’d like to stay home and vibe. Belle starts off quiet, but once she trusts you, she softens into this affectionate, playful, snuggly marshmallow who curls into your side with the kind of tenderness that could fix your whole entire week. She’ll romp with the dogs, nudge your hand for pets, and warm up the couch like she pays rent. She has an old-soul sweetness wrapped in a soft, slightly timid shell — but once she opens up, she’s all heart. Belle is a Toy Girl. Once she picks a toy, she commits. She’ll trot around with it, toss it, nibble it, cherish it, and basically act like it’s her emotional support object. She’ll play with other dogs, but she’s also perfectly happy amusing herself like a tiny, fluffy only child. Zoomies happen in short, polite bursts, followed by deeply committed nap sessions. Belle’s ideal living situation is less “apartment walls” and more “open-air serenity.” She’s a backyard girl at heart — the kind who wants her own little slice of sunshine where she can mosey around, sniff the breeze, stretch out in the grass, and simply exist in peace. Belle Starr may be tender and gentle, but she also comes with her own brand of “I’m a lady, please adjust accordingly” energy — and honestly, it’s iconic. First off, yes, she knows sit and has excellent recall, which is frankly miraculous given the number of dogs who act like “come” is a vague suggestion they’ll consider after they finish sniffing the universe. Belle actually listens — a rare and beautiful trait that we will not be taking for granted. Potty trained? Absolutely. She’s a responsible woman who handles her business outside like the civilized adult she is. Crate trained? Absolutely not. Belle regards the kennel with the same enthusiasm most people reserve for jury duty. She free-roams the house like a polite, respectful roommate who doesn’t chew your shoes, rearrange your furniture, or leave suspicious crumbs anywhere. Chewing things she shouldn’t? No. She has risen above such nonsense. She is, however, a coffee table surfer. If your sandwich sits unattended for even one (1) second, you might as well consider it a donation. Barking? She’s what we call a casual commentator. She’s not giving hour-long speeches or announcing the weather, but she will let the neighborhood know when Amazon, USPS, UPS, or DoorDash dares to approach the property. It’s not excessive — just the occasional “ahem, someone is here” PSA. As for her quirks? Belle simply asks that new humans not march directly into her personal bubble like they’re leading a parade. Give her a moment to observe, breathe, and decide that someone is safe. Once she feels secure, she lets all her softness show. She’s a gentle, thoughtful girl who just needs a home that respects her process, gives her structure, and helps her continue to blossom. If your heart is screaming “YES,” your brain is screaming “PLEASE,” and your calendar says you can pick her up in Oklahoma City once she’s done with her heartworm treatment… then don’t walk — RUN — to our adoption application. Fill out the form at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send her info to her foster family, who is fully prepared to cry happy tears when Belle finally gets the soft landing she deserves. This is your sign. Your gentle, smiley girl is waiting.

Story
Harper is a sweet, loving, and incredibly smart girl with tons of energy and an even bigger heart. Her favorite thing in the world is getting good scratches and being close to her people. She’s extremely friendly, personable, and always wants to be involved in everything. As our family has grown, we’ve found it increasingly difficult to give her the attention and activity she truly deserves. My postpartum anxiety has also made managing a very social, eager-to-connect dog more challenging, even though Harper has done absolutely nothing wrong. She’s been nothing but gentle and patient through it all.Harper is wonderful with children and other pets. What she really needs is a home where she can be more active—someone who can take her on regular walks or runs, give her playtime, and let her enjoy the engagement she thrives on. We love her deeply, and the only reason we’re looking to rehome her is because we want her to have the space, time, and connection she deserves and was meant for.
