Story
Rockstar Ms. Riley Ray didn’t get her name by accident — she earned it with heart, resilience, and a spirit that refuses to fade. This stunning 8-year-old purebred Border Collie has lived a life that didn’t quite match the energy she was born with. Adopted as a puppy by a loving older couple, Riley grew up surrounded by affection but very little structure. Long days indoors, extra bites of fast food and table scraps, and almost no exercise slowly took a toll. By the time her elderly parents entered nursing care, Riley had reached an unhealthy 81 pounds — a heavy weight for a dog meant to run free. Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in and promised Riley and the family that her story wouldn’t end there. Since arriving, she has begun her comeback tour. Beneath the extra pounds is the bright, athletic, ball-obsessed girl she was always meant to be. Riley lives for fetch. The moment a ball appears, her eyes light up and her whole body comes alive. It’s as if she’s saying, “This is who I really am.” She is affectionate, loyal, incredibly smart, and still has so much joy and drive left to give. Riley is searching for an active home that understands Border Collies and will help her continue her health journey. She doesn’t want to sit on the sidelines anymore — she wants to run, chase, play, and finally live the life her breed was built for. Her past may have slowed her down, but it never dimmed her spark. Now she’s ready for the next chapter, one filled with movement, purpose, and a human who will see the Rockstar she truly is.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 19, 2026, 6:56 pm

Story
I would like to introduce our Land Before Time Litter We were told this adorable litter of 5 are Beagle mix pups about 12 weeks old. They definitely sound like Beagles so I do not suggest them living in an apartment with neighbors. They will also need an active home or another pup in the home to keep them busy. We do not know their other breeds but I was thinking maybe Lab or Pointer. I feel Ducky and Petrie will be more like the size of a Beagle the other 3 a bit bigger. All will be medium size. They are very sweet babies not shy at all. They are being fostered with other dogs , cats , bunnies and children. Ready to go home or be fostered starting January 29th. Get your applications in. You must have an approved application to come and meet them. Once you submit an application, please reach out to us in text or email. We text people, so make sure your phone is not blocking unknown callers. Please do not submit an application and then ignore us when we contact you. Please send us a message on Facebook and don't forget to Like and Follow our page. Submit an application at https://www.peytonssafehaven.org/adoption-application
