Story
Sunrise is a 2-year-old dog who was at our organization last year. He was adopted, but sadly got returned in early January. Even though he’s been through a lot, Sunrise is still a very sweet and loving dog. He is affectionate, loyal, and enjoys being around people. Sunrise loves to cuddle and stay close to his humans, making him a great companion for someone looking for a calm and caring dog. He has a gentle personality and would do well in a home where he can get lots of attention and love. Sunrise is ready for a second chance with a family who will give him the forever home he deserves.

Story
Dwayne is an affable 4.5 year old border terrier who came to me as a runaway in 2022 at 4 months. He is playful and affectionate and very obedient. Truly he’s the embodiment of the “man’s best friend” cliché. I’ve loved being his parent and it’s so heartbreaking to have to rehome him. My life circumstances changed; I don’t have the resources and support system I once did to give him the life he deserves. He will thrive with a couple, family or single person with some outside space or the ability to get out regularly and hike or run in a park/field. I work 4x days in the office and 1 day remotely. He can be alone for some time but ideally he has some company and activity a few days of the week, if you’ll be at work. For example: doggie day care or babysitting or a long mid-day walk 2 or 3X during weekdays. On weekends he’s content with walks but a visit to the beach or bigger outing is great. He eats grain free food and has a sensitivity to foods with grains. Are you his forever home?

Story
Meet Meadow! Meadow is a 5-year-old terrier mix with a heart as big as her personality. If you’re looking for a companion who will keep you smiling, this sweet, goofy, and curious girl might just be your perfect match. From the moment you meet her, Meadow’s friendly nature shines—she’s been welcoming with everyone she’s met so far and loves being around her people. She has a medium energy level, making her a great balance of playful and relaxed. Whether it’s going for a walk, chewing on her favorite toy or Yak bone, or rolling around on a rug making the cutest snorting noises, Meadow knows how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. On walks, Meadow is easy to handle on leash and tends to be curious and happy when she sees other dogs. She does well with other dogs, though she hasn't come across any cats yet. At home, she’s affectionate and thrives on attention—she’ll happily cuddle up with you after a day of fun. Meadow is house trained and making great progress with her crate training. She is smart and eager to learn! If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will bring joy, laughter, and lots of cuddles into your life, Meadow is ready to meet you!

Story
Looking for an amazing fur-ever home for my rescue pup Lucy Lu!She is 5-7yo in good health, fixed, good teeth and up to date on her shots. She had a rough time on the streets after her owner passed away, but all she needs is a safe spot and lots of love! She is best as an only dog, she is a bit dog reactive but just in a few days of working with her she does great with a strong leader to be re-directed and she walks well on leash. She was in the shelter for over 2 months (where staff loved her and kept her as long as they could) and is decompressing. She was euth listed for the day I saved her. She loves love and naps on your lap! She is a border terrier mix, with maybe Jack Russell Terrier and weighs approx 27 pounds so a perfect companion size. She is very attached to her caregiver and would be a great companion to an active and fit senior (she does pull towards other dogs when walking and needs someone firm to continue to help her walk well on leash.)She'll keep her 2 hounds harness.

Story
Chiqui was living in an apartment with 9 other dogs. Neighbors were not pleased and eventually 4 of the pups were surrendered to another rescue where they were spayed/neutered and had their shots updated. Four puppies is a lot, and Dawg Squad stepped up to help and welcomed Chiqui to our rescue. She is an absolute delight. Chiqui is very shy when she first meets you but if you have another dog....well, all is right with her world. She loves other dogs who like to play and do some mutual zoomies. She is housebroken, crate trained and is learning how to walk on leash. This little one would be great in any home. She loves, dogs, kids, cats and eventually grown ups. Chiqui loves a crowd so the more the merrier. For more information, please go to https://dawgsquad.org/adoption-application/
