He enjoys being around people, loves going on walks, and especially enjoys riding in the car, making him a wonderful companion for adventures and everyday outings. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued training, structure, and supervision as they grow and mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Consistency, patience, and structure are important for helping him grow into a confident adult dog. Tobby is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
