Story
Meet Treats: he's...SOMETHING.Some dogs fit neatly into a breed description. Treats is not one of those dogs. What is Treats? Some kind of terrier? Probably??? An Ewok? Possible. A Wookiee who lost his spaceship and ended up at the shelter? Frankly, we're not ruling anything out. (My actual best guess is a Border Terrier, but that's a guess.)Treats is a beautifully weird little guy whose exact origins may never be known. What we do know is that he's got a face you'll never forget and a personality that sneaks up on you in the best way.At first meeting, Treats can be a little suspicious. He's got that classic "I don't know about this..." look down to an art form. But the second he realizes you're friendly and have no plans to betray him, he transforms into a full-blown party boy. Suddenly you're his best friend. His bro. His favorite person on Earth. The club is open, and membership is mandatory.Once he's comfortable, Treats is all about hanging out, having fun, and being part of whatever you're doing. He just needs a moment to size you up before deciding you're awesome. If you've always wanted a dog that looks like he was assembled from the spare parts of miscellaneous woodland creatures and pure charm, Treats may be exactly the unique companion you've been waiting for.Come meet Treats. Maybe you can finally solve the mystery. We certainly can't.If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.savehomelessanimals.org. Story
My name is Bristol and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my brothers Chubbs & Kilo were given up by our owner to a small rescue after she fell on some really hard times and was not able to take care of us.  We are some type of scruffy terrier mix and are 3 years old; I am the middle sibling in weight at just a little over 24lbs.  We get along with each other but we are not looking to get adopted together ... in fact, we would really all like to find our own home and make our own way.  When we first came into foster, it was kind of scary and we were shy and skittish, but it didn't take any of us long to learn that our foster parents were nice, we get good food and treats on a regular basis (all of us are pretty food motivated), and we have come out of our shells loving the routine.  I am a little bossy sometimes with other dogs so a proper introduction to new dogs is always recommended.  I have I have done well in my crate as long as I am able to get out on a regular basis to take care of my business and haven't torn up any of my bedding; however, I would prefer to be out and about and will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.   I'm a typical terrier in that I do have lots of energy and love running around outside and exploring so a fenced yard would be extra nice.  I'm good on leash once I have learned to trust you and then would love to go on walks or even hikes.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj. orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Orion is a playful, affectionate 2-year-old who’s ready to find his forever home. This big sweetheart is not only full of personality, but he’s also a fast learner who enjoys picking up new tricks. He loves spending quality time on the couch just as much as he enjoys getting out for walks, playing with his favorite toys, and earning tasty treats. Orion is both crate trained and house broken, making him an easy addition to a loving home. When he’s outside, he’s in his element—exploring, soaking up the fresh air, and enjoying every moment. And when it’s time to relax, he’ll happily roll onto his back for belly rubs, soaking up all the affection he can get. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold, Orion might just be your perfect match.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pepper is with our partner rescue in LA and come to NJ with an approved adopter or foster. Meet Pepper, a darling little Rat Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. This sweet girl came to rescue after her owner could no longer care for her, and while that change was hard on her, Pepper’s loving personality still shines through every day. All she truly wants is a warm lap, a kind voice, and someone to remind her she’s safe and cherished.  Pepper can be a little nervous when meeting new people at first, but once she settles in, she becomes an affectionate, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to stay close to her favorite humans. She’s playful, goofy, intelligent, and eager to please, with just the right mix of cuddly lap dog and fun little sidekick.  She’s housetrained, crate trained, leash trained, and enjoys toys and playtime, but her favorite place will always be snuggled up beside her people. Pepper also gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for many homes. Because she can be timid at first, she would do best with older, considerate children who can give her the patience and gentle reassurance she needs to build confidence.  At around 19 pounds, Pepper is the perfect medium-small companion with a moderate energy level. She’d love a home where she can enjoy walks, cozy couch time, and plenty of affection from her people. Though she may start out shy, once Pepper trusts you, her sweet and loving personality blossoms beautifully. Pepper’s perfect match is someone with a gentle heart who understands that the best relationships take a little patience at first. In return, she’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and the kind of quiet companionship that makes a house truly feel like home. Pepper was heartworm positive when she arrived in rescue, but she has successfully completed her treatment and is now ready to start the happy, healthy next chapter of her life. Pepper is fixed, microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Her adoption donation is $500. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 4, 2026, 1:52 pm
