Meet Sprout – Tiny Dog, Big Personality! If you`re looking for a quiet little lap dog who spends her days napping on the couch, Sprout isn`t your girl. But if you`re an experienced dog owner who appreciates the spirited nature of terriers, you may have just found your perfect match.Sprout is a beautiful Cairn Terrier mix, about 1 1/2 years old and weighing only around 10 pounds. She`s spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to start the next chapter of her life.Like many terriers, Sprout is incredibly smart, energetic, and always ready for an adventure. She would absolutely shine in agility or another activity that keeps both her mind and body busy. When she`s finished burning off that energy, she`s more than happy to curl up in your lap and soak up all the affection you`ll give her.Sprout doesn`t hand out her trust to strangers. She can be reactive around people she doesn`t know, barking and lunging to let them know they`re in her space. But once you`ve earned her confidence, you`ll discover a loyal, affectionate little companion who forms a very strong bond with her person.Because of her excitement level, Sprout can nip or snap during play if she isn`t given clear boundaries. She needs a confident, experienced owner who will provide consistent leadership and continue teaching her appropriate social manners. We also recommend enrolling her in training - she`s smart, eager to learn, and training will help her become the very best version of herself. For everyone`s safety, Sprout must go to an adult-only home or one with teenagers 16 years or older. No children under 16, and no young visiting grandchildren. She simply becomes too excited around younger kids, and we don`t want to put anyone in a situation where they could get hurt. She would also do best in a home rather than an apartment or busy neighborhood where she`d constantly encounter unfamiliar people, as that environment would be stressful for her.Sprout is doing well with house training and generally prefers to potty outside, though she`ll likely need a brief refresher as she adjusts to a new routine. She`s also a great eater, making mealtime easier.Sprout isn`t the right dog for everyone - and that`s okay. She`s looking for that special person who understands that dogs, like people, are individuals. Give her structure, patience, exercise, and love, and she`ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless ent
