You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   HBC Compoound fracure of hind legThis lamb was picked up as a stray and taken to BARC in Houston.  He was injured.  He had 'road rash', swelling and bruising on his leg, a scab on his head and xrays revealed a compound fracture of the hind left tibia and fibula.  (The bones below the knee)  Immediate ortho consult and on the surgery board for the next day. Milo is healing beautifully.  He's in a 'soft cast' for 2 weeks, then limited leash walks for potty breaks.  He's on pain management meds, and expected to make a full recovery Once healed he will make a wonderful addition to a family.  He's already a happy playful boy. We take him out regularly.  So he's already crate trained.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 4, 2026, 9:01 pm

Story
✨ Meet Goldie Locks ✨ Goldie Locks is a sweet 9-year-old Golden Border Terrier mix weighing just 17 pounds—the perfect size for cuddling! This gentle little girl may have limited vision, but she has an endless capacity for love. Goldie is incredibly affectionate and simply wants to be close to her people. She loves attention, gentle pets, and the comfort of a warm lap or cozy bed. Shelter life has been stressful for her, and she has been feeling anxious in this unfamiliar environment. What Goldie truly needs is a calm, loving home where she can finally relax and feel safe. Despite her visual impairment, Goldie faces the world with quiet bravery. Once she becomes familiar with her surroundings, she settles in nicely and lets her loving personality shine. She isn't asking for much—just patience, kindness, and a family who will cherish her. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Goldie Locks may be the perfect match. She may not see the world clearly, but she knows exactly how to love with her whole heart. ❤️ Adoption fee is: $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
Lacey is a tiny, adorable terrier with a big ability to steal hearts. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was frightened and unsure of the world around her. With kindness and patience from the volunteers, she slowly blossomed into a happy little dog who loved walks, playtime, and spending time with her favorite people. After being adopted, Lacey discovered she loved her person so much that she became overly protective and would nip at visitors. Because of this, she has returned to the shelter, where she's understandably a little scared again. The good news is she's already beginning to warm up to the volunteers and show her sweet personality once more.Lacey is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will help her continue building confidence and gently teach her that new people aren't something to fear. With love, consistency, and positive guidance, this little girl has so much potential to be a wonderful, devoted companion. If you're willing to give Lacey the time she needs, you'll be rewarded with a loyal friend who will love you with her whole heart.Est. DOB: 3/17/248 lbs.AAR does not transport for adoption.

Story
I'm Morticia, a mischievous and smart 1-year-old black Cairn Terrier. I do have a shy side that comes out when I'm getting to know new people. I'll do best in an adult-only household where I can settle in at my own pace. I'm waiting to meet someone who appreciates a spirited girl with brains and heart!

Story
Hi! I'm Charlotte, and I'm currently searching for a dog to adopt me. Humans are... well... acceptable, I suppose, mostly because they seem to be in charge of important things like food, water, comfy beds, and opening doors. But if we're being honest, I'd really prefer a confident canine roommate to show me the ropes. You see, I trust dogs way more than people. They know who's safe, what's worth investigating, and when it's time to relax in a sunny patch of grass. Since no one is a better judge of character than another dog, I'm hoping my future furry sibling can help me learn that the world isn't quite as scary as I think it is. I'm a gentle, sensitive girl who likes to take life at my own pace. New people and new situations can feel overwhelming, so I'll need a family that understands trust isn't something I give away overnight. The good news? Every little bit of progress is a huge victory with me, and earning the trust of a dog like me is one of the most rewarding experiences you can imagine. Watching me become just a little braver each day is truly something special. I'm probably not going to be the tiny lap dog everyone expects—and that's okay! At bedtime, I'd be happiest with a cozy bed right next to my furry sibling's. Maybe one day I'll decide to scoot it a little closer, but for now, just being in the same room is perfect. My perfect home is calm, patient, and understanding. I don't need someone to rush me—I need someone willing to celebrate every tiny step forward and let me blossom on my own timeline. With a trusted dog by my side, a warm sunny spot to nap in, and kind humans who respect my boundaries while cheering me on, I'll keep discovering that the world can be a pretty wonderful place after all. If your dog has been looking for a new best friend... I just might be the one they've been waiting for.
