You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   HBC Compoound fracure of hind legThis lamb was picked up as a stray and taken to BARC in Houston.  He was injured.  He had 'road rash', swelling and bruising on his leg, a scab on his head and xrays revealed a compound fracture of the hind left tibia and fibula.  (The bones below the knee)  Immediate ortho consult and on the surgery board for the next day. Milo is healing beautifully.  He's in a 'soft cast' for 2 weeks, then limited leash walks for potty breaks.  He's on pain management meds, and expected to make a full recovery Once healed he will make a wonderful addition to a family.  He's already a happy playful boy. We take him out regularly.  So he's already crate trained.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 3, 2026, 10:04 am

Story
✨ Meet Goldie Locks ✨ Goldie Locks is a sweet 5-year-old Golden Border Terrier mix weighing just 17 pounds—the perfect size for cuddling! This gentle little girl may have limited vision, but she has an endless capacity for love. Goldie is incredibly affectionate and simply wants to be close to her people. She loves attention, gentle pets, and the comfort of a warm lap or cozy bed. Shelter life has been stressful for her, and she has been feeling anxious in this unfamiliar environment. What Goldie truly needs is a calm, loving home where she can finally relax and feel safe. Despite her visual impairment, Goldie faces the world with quiet bravery. Once she becomes familiar with her surroundings, she settles in nicely and lets her loving personality shine. She isn't asking for much—just patience, kindness, and a family who will cherish her. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Goldie Locks may be the perfect match. She may not see the world clearly, but she knows exactly how to love with her whole heart. ❤️ Adoption fee is: $300 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022

Story
GETS ALONG WITH EVERYONE!  DOB 5/17/25, weight 11 lb. Hey there, everyone! I’m Richie, a charming, affectionate, alert, and fun-loving Norfolk Terrier/ Portuguese Podengo mix fella who has the wheaten-colored, rough coat of both breeds but the drop ears of a Norfolk and the longer legs as well as the muzzle of a Podengo. I’m sure that my expressive, almond-shaped eyes have already caught your attention, and indeed, they are the window into my soul. I have an extremely sweet, trusting disposition that's friendly with everyone – other small dogs, cats, kids, as well as adults. When I was only about a year old, my owner abandoned me inside of a Kroger store. When an employee saw me wandering aimlessly around the aisles, she scooped me up and took me home. Thank heavens she networked until she eventually located my HOPE foster mom, who has promised to find me a wonderful forever home. Foster Mom soon found that I’m as smart as I am handsome and well-behaved because I’m already leash-trained, crate-trained, and house-trained. Now I’m ready to bring my loyal love, winsome amiability, and easygoing adaptability to my forever family. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! I promise we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the second we meet! I’m ready to share all of your adventures! HOPE ID D26-0524-0021 Richie’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site that Richie will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you.
