Story
Cookies is a sweet Velcro dog. He follows you everywhere, snuggles all the time and is pretty laid back. He’s not the smartest, bravest or most ambitious guy but he is a great alert system. He would prefer to be the only dog and have you all to himself. He will be neutered Tuesday which will greatly reduce any marking. His perfect home would be with seniors where he can lead a slow, peaceful life being spoiled rotten. If you would like to meet Cookie Monster, let us know.

Story
Meet Ivette Female DOB: May 25, 2025 Weight: 13 pounds Breed: Border Terrier Mix Spayed (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Ivette is a happy, friendly little girl with a loving personality and playful spirit. She enjoys being around people, loves companionship, and has the kind of cheerful energy that makes her easy to adore. Ivette is social, affectionate, and enjoys being included in everyday life with her humans. At around 1 year old, she has beautifully grown beyond the tiny puppy stage while still keeping youthful energy, curiosity, and playful charm. She enjoys interaction, attention, and spending time with her people. As a Border Terrier mix, Ivette may show traits such as: Intelligence and curiosity A friendly, social personality Playful but affectionate energy Strong bonds with her family Alertness and engagement Border Terrier mixes are often known for being loving, adaptable companions who thrive with interaction, structure, and companionship. Ivette would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily walks and activity Continued training and socialization Structure and consistency Mental stimulation and engagement Inclusion as part of the family She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, friendly, and engaging young dog. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued guidance, structure, patience, and supervision as they continue maturing. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Ivette will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Continued socialization and exposure Daily exercise and engagement Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience during adjustment periods Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Ivette will need: Daily walks and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and exercise A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because Ivette is still a young dog, consistency and structure are especially important in helping her mature into a confident and well-balanced adult dog. Ivette is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
This is Violet 💜 She is an amazing, sweet girl. When she sees her favorite volunteers, her entire body wiggles with happiness. She keeps her kennel nice and neat. She loves exploring the play yard, the occasional zoomie and taking nice, quiet walks. What’s the catch? Why hasn’t she been adopted?? Violet is fearful of new things. Loud noises. Not in a fight way but in a flight way. She has some fears around men and big dogs but does have some small dog friends. She takes her time to warm up but when she does, she’s so happy and fun. All she needs is time, patience and love. If you are looking for that dog, the one that is often overlooked, the one that is shy, the one that will fill your heart full of love when you break through that barrier…Violet is your girl.Est. DOB: 8/15/1918 lbs.AAR does not transport for adoption.Violet is enjoying a foster home. Please email dogadoptteam@aartexas.org to schedule a time to meet her.

Story
Pepe is a 2 1/2 year old mixed breed. He is smart, energetic and loving. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He loves people! He loves to snuggle and wants to be right by your side. He is too rough to be around small dogs or cats. Pepe’ would be ideally suited for a single adult or couple. He bonds quickly. He plays with family kids at holidays but has had limited exposure to children. He loves to run and is a good working dog. He needs frequent exercise to manage his energy. He is a great inside dog but would also do well with a large yard. He has been well loved and his large kennel, 2 large orthopedic beds, outdoor doghouse, remaining heartworm and flea meds etc will go with him.
