Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only. donate@yorkierescuehouston.org or, if you prefer: our fundraising platform, Zeffy Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.   HBC Compoound fracure of hind legThis lamb was picked up as a stray and taken to BARC in Houston.  He was injured.  He had 'road rash', swelling and bruising on his leg, a scab on his head and xrays revealed a compound fracture of the hind left tibia and fibula.  (The bones below the knee)  Immediate ortho consult and on the surgery board for the next day. Milo is healing beautifully.  He's in a 'soft cast' for 2 weeks, then limited leash walks for potty breaks.  He's on pain management meds, and expected to make a full recovery Once healed he will make a wonderful addition to a family.  He's already a happy playful boy. We take him out regularly.  So he's already crate trained.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 19, 2026, 6:52 pm

Story
Chewie is approximately 9 months old and is playful, incredibly intelligent, and very affectionate. We named him Chewie because of his adorable likeness to Chewbacca the Wookie. He has been to a 2 week training academy and learned many basic skills. He solves food puzzles quickly, loves to learn new skills, and loves his treadmill. Chewie loves play time and good quality exercise. He responds well to positive reinforcement, not harsh discipline, because he is quite sensitive. Chewie will thrive in a home where he is an only dog, or with dogs of his own size and energy level. He will make an incredible companion in the right home. His treadmill, nice crate and bed will be included in the adoption. He is current on all vaccinations and heartworm meds. He is heartworm negative and tick-borne illness negative.

Story
Chewie was taken into our loving home a couple months ago after being given up by someone that could not care for him. We sent him to puppy academy because he is so intelligent, you are sure to be impressed. He loves affection, positive reinforcement, and activities like running both outside and on his treadmill. His treadmill, crate, and bed will be included with the adoption. All are of the highest quality and virtually brand new. He also has some food puzzles that are a joy to watch him solve. Named for his uncle, the adorable wookie Chewbacca, chewie will be a great addition to the right home.

Story
Meet my sweet girl, Millie! She is an approximately 1-year-old dog weighing just under 20 pounds. She is very friendly, energetic, and sociable, and she loves being around both people and other pets. She would thrive in an active home with multiple people or other animals where she can get lots of attention, companionship, and playtime.I adopted her from a shelter where she was brought in as a stray. She is a wonderful dog with a playful personality and lots of love to give. However, she is still learning how to be a house dog. She needs clear boundaries and obedience training as she adjusts to family life. Unfortunately, my current lifestyle is not the best fit for the level of activity and attention she deserves, so I am looking for a home where she can truly thrive and be happy. She would make a great companion for someone who has the time and energy to include her in daily activities, train her, and give her plenty of interaction.

Story
Pepe is a 2 1/2 year old mixed breed. He is smart, energetic and loving. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He loves people! He loves to snuggle and wants to be right by your side. He is too rough to be around small dogs or cats. Pepe’ would be ideally suited for a single adult or couple. He bonds quickly. He plays with family kids at holidays but has had limited exposure to children. He loves to run and is a good working dog. He needs frequent exercise to manage his energy. He is a great inside dog but would also do well with a large yard. He has been well loved and his large kennel, 2 large orthopedic beds, outdoor doghouse, remaining heartworm and flea meds etc will go with him.
