Gregory – 8 Week Old Border Terrier Schnauzer Mix | The Sweet Talker with the Serious Face Gregory is a happy little boy with the cutest serious expression when he locks eyes with you. Do not let that thoughtful look fool you though, his tail is almost always wagging. He was the first of the two brothers to discover his bark and loves to “talk” when he wants your attention. He enjoys playing outside and is right there for a good game of chase with his brother and foster sibling. He may be slightly calmer than Theodore, but at this young age he still has plenty of playful puppy energy. Gregory loves giving kisses and will follow them up with gentle nibbles. If you wear your hair in a scrunchie ponytail consider yourself warned, he and his brother think that is the best toy ever. Like his brother he sleeps through the night and does well with the crate when left open. Morning snuggles are his specialty and he loves starting the day curled up close to his people. Gregory would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet affectionate puppy with just the right amount of playful spark. He is being fostered in Texas but can be transported. Laverne is a sweet, affectionate rescue girl who is ready to bring warmth, love, and companionship into her forever home. She is around 2 years old and weighs approximately 25 pounds, making her a wonderful medium-sized companion—perfect for cuddles, adventures, and everyday life. Laverne is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX, where she has settled beautifully into a loving routine. Laverne is fully potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy transition into a new home. She is good with all dogs and truly enjoys their company, whether it’s playtime in the yard or relaxing together after a busy day. That said, she does not necessarily need a home with another dog—she would be just as happy soaking up all the love and attention as your one-and-only. One of her favorite pastimes is soaking up the sunshine. She loves curling up in a sunny spot by a window for a peaceful nap. She also enjoys going places! Laverne loads easily into the car and likes to stand on the console so she can see everything on the road ahead. She is leash trained and walks nicely, making daily strolls enjoyable. Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.
