Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.

Story
This is George around 11 years per lady that re- homed him, owner passed away. I took George in around 10 months ago. He loves to walk and play ball. George is healthy, at the time I took in 3 dogs to save from shelter. I have two small dogs Yorkie and Shitzu who now have illness. I am a senior and developed back issues that need medical attention. George is up to date on all shots. He needs a loving home to live out rest of his life. I regret that I can no longer handle 5 dogs. I cannot afford the upkeep with my own health and my two little sick dogs. George came from Oklahoma and lived with 10 Yorkies and couple other dogs his owner passed away from long illness. George is very mellow and good natured would make a great companion for senior. George is inside dog and cannot be out in heat or cold. George is spoiled and loves to play with my silky terrier whom I adopted around same time. I am hoping someone will give him a good loving home. ❤️

Story
White Pine is a loving, playful companion who brings a special kind of warmth to every day. This small, sweet girl adores being close to her people and is happiest when she can curl up in your lap or relax by your side. Her affectionate nature makes her a wonderful cuddle buddy, and she’s always ready to soak up attention. She also has a fun, spirited side and enjoys squeaky toys and a good game of tug. White Pine loves to play and engage, making her a great mix of snuggly and lively. She’s well-mannered in the home, crate trained, house trained, walks nicely on leash, and comes when called. White Pine will do best with a thoughtful introduction to new environments and companions, and she truly shines when she feels comfortable and connected with her people. If you’re looking for a devoted, sweet companion with both playful energy and a love for cuddles, White Pine could be a wonderful match. Sitter needed: 05/26/26 - 06/01/26 and/or 06/08/26 - 06/16/26 Meet Scrappy – Your Loyal, Playful Sidekick! Scrappy is an adorable 8-year-young pup with the perfect mix of smarts, playfulness, and cuddly charm. Don’t let his age fool you—he’s full of energy and always up for an adventure, whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, zoomies in a fenced yard, or a road trip (he’s the best passenger and snoozes calmly the whole ride!). This sweet boy has a wonderful training foundation—he knows sit, is working on “lay,” waits patiently at mealtime, and is crate and muzzle trained. He’s eager to keep learning and thrives with structure. Scrappy is also a toy enthusiast who especially loves squeaky toys, fetch (for a few fun tosses), and playtime that keeps his mind engaged. Scrappy gets along beautifully with other dogs and would love to have a canine buddy or two to hang out with. With his dog friends, he’s playful, polite, and happy to just be part of the pack. At home, Scrappy is affectionate, calm, and loves to be by your side. He’s a champion snuggler who will happily share the bed if you let him, and he’ll melt your heart with belly rub requests and sweet kisses. He’s not a big barker and has a cheerful, happy-go-lucky vibe that makes every day brighter. Scrappy would do best in a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs and play, and he’s looking for an adopter who appreciates his loyal, protective nature and will give him a little time to build trust with new people. Once you’re in his circle, he’ll shower you with love, loyalty, and playful energy for life. Scrappy is such a special dog—funny, loving, smart, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will keep you smiling and make your days brighter, Scrappy just might be your perfect match.
